As instructed Koli had arranged for a hunting party to go and find some game for the pack. It had been quite a while since he had hunted with other wolves and although he was confident that it would go successfully he was a bit nervous about the best way to do this and how to lead the others to make sure that the kill was quick and that no injuries came to anyone. He was hoping to find larger game and there was always a risk that someone could get injured if the prey decided to fight back; and as he had the young Terror with him he knew he had to be careful. Terror was still quite young and had a lot to learn and he worried that the wolf's eagerness might get the better of him and the last thing he wanted as to try and explain to Legacy and Zethrox why Terror was missing an eye or tooth.[/size]
Sniffing the air he turned his attention to Zhen and Terror and gave them a small nod to signify for them to follow. He had spotted some deer earlier and wanted to find them as quickly as he could before they moved on to better land. Kemari was still damaged but was making a recovery so game was becoming more frequent but larger game was still rare and Koli didn't want to miss this opportunity to have a decent meal for him and the pack. He had failed once as the alpha of these lands and Zethrox had been kind enough to give him the role as the head hunter and he didn't want to fail again. Bringing back a few rabbits was not an option and he would push the others if he had to, he'd even follow the deer to local territory if needs be; with permission of course, he wasn't about to ruin any hope of friendships with other packs just to ensure that the pack didn't starve.
Catching the scent of the deer that he had spotted he beckoned Terror over, he wanted to teach Terror as much as he possibly could whilst on this hunt to equip the pup with the knowledge to find his own food whenever necessary and to give him more of a secure future if he should ever decide to make his own way in life. "These scents of deer are rather fresh and we have to be careful to follow this scent and not allow ourselves to be confused by the scents of other animals which cross the path." Smiling he put his nose down to the ground and familiarised himself with the scent. "Want to give finding the deer a shot?" He would of course double check everything to ensure they followed the right path but the more the pup learned the better and what better way of learning then by practice?
