The warm scents of winter grasses filled the air, drifting lazily on the wind. The sun was high, warm despite the chilly breeze. The south was always just a little warmer, and as the Eastern Timber male wandered aimlessly around he was thankful that it was not bitter cold. He wasn't quite built for the coldest climates.
Unfortunately, the weather was the least of his worries. Somehow Torrah had managed to get himself ditched. He and his sisters had been on their way to finally meet Grandpa Zeth. That was days ago. He'd woken from their last night's sleep together to discover both of them gone. For the life of him he couldn't figure out why Tehrin would leave without him. Akihra had always been a bit rebellious. While he loved her dearly, he was honestly less surprised with her disappearance than he was his twin's. Tehrin, on the other paw, rarely did anything without him. He was her precious lackey; she simply wasn't happy without at least one sack of bones to push around.
"Where are they?" His voice was laced with worry as he continued to wander about the plains. Despite being the softy of their little trio, Torrah wasn't exactly accustomed to life without them. Tehrin had been the boss of him ever since he'd been born. And Akhira was his baby sister! Given Tehrin's pension for trouble-making, he just knew something bad had to be happening to them. He could feel it. That persistent, sinking feeling that always nagged at the back of his mind had been increased by ten-fold. The longer he was away from his siblings, the worse he was starting to freak.
Every so often a quiet whimper fell from his mouth. He didn't know what to do. He was alone and abandoned. A part of him said to head for Kamari, but if that wasn't where his sisters were then he would end up in a heap load of trouble. Tehrin would practically kill him for meeting their grandfather without her. That's why when he reached a crossroads, the border that divided I'queyer, Xisyn, and Kamari, he could only bring himself to sit and stare. There were faint traces of his sisters' scents but they branched in different directions. Akihra's pointed to his north while Tehrin's drifted west. Leave it to the two of them to divide their little group even further. Now he had to figure out which to follow after. His twin was certainly the most dangerous of them all, but Akihra had a nasty knack of meeting with unintentional trouble. Why didn't they ever try and make his life easy?
