Revan nodded at Meikou's request and got to her paws. "Alright." She was watching Tee out of the corner of her eye and when he also got up and nodded at them, she smiled gently at him again. Good, she thought. Revan had no idea why she felt drawn to Tee; perhaps it was that he was just as shy as she had been, though he showed it far differently than she had. Giving herself a quick shake, she moved from a walk to a quick trot, then into the ground-eating lope that only wolves could do. A look over her shoulder confirmed that Meikou and Tee had joined the her in that graceful movement. Though she could feel the rhythmic impacts of her companions' paws against the hard ground, she felt like her own her barely touching. The memory of the first time she had been able to run like this flashed across her mind...
Awkward. That was the only word that could describe the attempts that the adolescent Revan made. She watched other wolves gracefully lope along and her throat burned with envy. She knew that she should be able to do it, but she always failed. She would trip over her own paws and become a clumsy parody of what it was supposed to be. Her ears flattened as she stepped up to make another try. First, a deep breath. Then go from walk into trot. Okay, she'd gotten that part down. Emerald eyes narrowed and Revan leaped forwards. At first there was her usual floundering, but then something changed. With an almost audible snap, Revan was suddenly flying across the ground. The shock that she had managed it knocked her out of rhythm and she stumbled to a halt. "I did it," she said, eyes shining. "I really did it."
Shaking herself out of the past, Revan turned her paws towards Kamari, leading Tee and Meikou to her home.
