Sapphire’s path cut jagged lines into the map of Anikira, having treaded by the running water of Caurus, it was unavoidable that she would step then after into the pack lands of other wolves. In fact, even if she had known the land off by heart, it would appear there was no stray path to cut across the land away from territory claimed by others. Sapphire was a lucky wolf, she might not have survived as long as she had in this strange land if it had not been for the aid of another wolf. Reven, the wolf that had saved her life and nursed her back to health. They had parted ways not to long ago, and young Sapphire had found herself springing quickly back to health. The reason Sapphire had then taken the path her paws took to now, was simple enough. She was sick of the cold, and the rain, the wet and the snow. The wolf’s coat was thick and soft on a good day, but lately she felt it sagged, holding her down, catching rain fall within it’s curls. She took a reasonably difficult path, which may not have been the wisest task for one on the mend – but her paws would go where her paws would go.
The sent of rain fall was behind her now, and she felt the sun on her coat for the first time in what felt like a life time. She kept to the outskirts of the mountains that towered down upon her, skirting around the base of one of the great beasts. She was stepping into pack land, but so far she was unaware of this. Away from Caurus, and the North territories. This wolf was exploring, and the day brought her closer to the east with every step.
The young wolf’s steps grew lighter, less weary and more energetic with every passing moment. Mountains where never fun to climb, but she kept to the easy path and just kept on going. She had eaten earlier in the morning, and it was on this energy she pushed on. The weight of her past fell from her shoulders, everything she was now was what she made herself into. Nothing could hold her back now, she was unstoppable.
Well... then of course she hit the scent of a pack. She shied from the edges of the pack land, unsure. She was unwilling to adventure back across the mountains now that she had crossed, but she knew it was wrong to trespass. She did what any sensible wolf would do – she raised her head and called out a greeting, calling to the wolves of this pack, for they where wolves, and by blood and skin, where Kindred.
