Time can't heal this break (open)

For now a little over seven years Zhen had been forced to wander the dirt. It seemed everytime she started to get rather comfortable something would happen to pull her away for awhile. After the litter from Revan had been born she had managed to get herself ill and still wasn't feeling all that great but she was hoping a good meal would help. Taking care of the stillborn pup of her pack-mate had made her mentally ill and so she had not been eating.

Eyes rolled and her jaw cracked with a yawn before her tan and black body rolled onto her side, a lazy glance up into the sky was the last thing she did for the evening. As the sun was breaking up the darkness in the morning a sharp peck to her flank startled the female awake in a mere second. Zhen leaped to her feet and twisted around in a circle, her eyes checking he ground. Feathers smacked her face as the buzzard lifted itself up and away from the wolf.

"I'm no dead...not physically anyway..." She turned away and started walking, her thin paws moving carefully between the broken stones underfoot. Who remains? How much of an outsider have I become in my own home? I know these rocks will remain the same day in and day out, doesn't matter how long they sit, nothing will change them. How much have the pups grown? Have anymore been born to this soil? Am I even still welcome after not being around so much these last few months...

As her thoughts echoed through her head, an aimless path was set that her paws followed. So careful was each step to land on soil until Zhen finally looked around at the crumbling buildings. A quick sniff told her nothing, she caught no old scents or any new. Her head dropped down low and she headed around the half fallen wall to move inside what remained of the building. With a tired sigh she buckled in the hallway and let her eyes close to see about getting some more sleep.

She was careful to keep them close behind her, as they were still less than two months old. They were her pride and joy, and apparently, they were all she had left of Ryker. She was ashamed that her mate had abandoned her after such a pivotal situation. Now, she had to care for these girls herself, and Ryker would never get to know his daughters. I wonder where he could have gone, she thought, the wound from his abandonment still raw in her heart. The sound of swooping wings caught Akihra's attention as she spied a buzzard swooping on a curious-looking creature. The female was not quite wolf, yet she was nothing like the femme had ever seen before. She was curious, and she was not scared. The wolf smelled of Zethrox's pack, so she was not overly cautious with her in Sariya and Aneysa's presence. She appeared to be asleep, but making assumptions would not be a bright idea. Undaunted, she approached the wolf, interested to get to know what she was to her grandfather's pack. Maybe this will be a chance to integrate myself with the others. I need to put down my roots here, and that is not going to happen until I take the first step, she reasoned. "Hello there," Akihra called in greeting. She did not want to approach without warning, as she was not well known to the pack members. In fact, unless the wolf had been alerted to her presence, there was a good chance she would have no clue who Akihra was. "I am Akihra, the newest member of your pack, and these are my daughters, Aneysa and Sariya," she introduced her little family softly. "I am sorry, but I have no idea what I am doing. I don't know where anyone is; perhaps you could help me out?" She was genuinely lost on what to do. Akihra had never been a member of a pack or any family unit apart from her two siblings, and she had always been a subordinate member at best. Now, she had an opportunity to prove herself in a new way, and she was going to start out as simply as possible. She needed to make friends with the members of the pack first, and then see what could happen from there. This was her home, and she needed to familiarize herself with the area that she could quite possibly live in for the rest of her life. ((OOC: Crappy post lol...))
