The big male decided to take a few moments to himself. The female, Zaylin, hadn't expressed any interest in joining him thus far so, he assumed that she had a better offer from somewhere else or, just had better things to do. He couldn't imagine anyone giving a better offer than him but, that was just his opinion. Kiddo walked over to the caverns and sat down. He looked at them, his body relaxed. There was no need for tenseness here. There was no one else here and there was no need for aggression all the time. It couldn't be healthy for him. He gazed into the deep caves. They were so mysterious and interesting. He pondered going into one just to see where one went but, they didn't look very sturdy. He didn't want one to collapse on him. Death was not on his agenda. Besides, the entry way looked to small for his large frame to squeeze through. He took pride in his bigness. It made him look more intimidating and threatening. It meant that none would dare cross his boarders. His 140 pound frame would frighten any wolf who had the guts to set foot over his lines. He made his mind up on that. He wanted anyone who was going to cross into his future land to be scared for their lives. It wouldn't be too hard to do-especially in the winter when his coat made him look even larger. The male loved the winter. It was the time of year that his kind would survive the best. His thick body and fur made it possible for him to live in absolute peace with the snow and the cold. He actually liked the snow. It was very pretty and it graced the ground with it's wintery blanket also, he could hide during hunting better. Hunting was very interesting for the big male. He was too large to be terribly fast so he had to creep in as far as he possibly could before being seen and then make the take down relatively quickly because he would lose whatever he wanted if it turned into a chase but, once he did get on top of a deer or whatever, taking it down was no problem.
A thought crossed his mind. Where would he claim his pack land? he had spent so much time on members and how he would lead that he forgot about the actual place where he would be located. How stupid of him. He thought about locating it here in the place called the Caurus but then, he remembered that this place was for loners to live in peace. The thought of tearing land away from them was something that even an evil genius like him wouldn't do. Besides, if he did make a claim here, then he would either have to kick all of the wolves that were already here out or, let them join. The second was not going to happen. He was not a charity. He was not out to let just any old wolf live off his land and eat his food without offering something to him in return. If a wolf just wanted family but had nothing really to offer him then, he would either waste them where they stood or, "direct" them to another pack. He was out for bettering himself and making sure his survival was sure first and foremost and then his pack would come in second. It was true that he did want a cohesive group that acted together and worked like a family but, he needed the members to have something more. He was out to make the best pack possible and he would tear down anyone in his way. After all, wouldn't it be just great to live in a group where everyone did their parts and did something for the group. He was looking for quality over quantity. Anyone can have lots of wolves in a pack but, how effective is the pack if half of them just sit on their asses and sun bathe themselves? Not very.
Still the question remained. Where would he settle down? He would just have to continue wandering around until he found something suitable. It wouldn't be very effective but, there wasn't much left for him to look through. He had been through most of the island already and there were only a few places where he would make a call. He had to admit, wandering around for the next few weeks was not what he wanted to do with his time but oh well, the show goes on.
Damn Toklo. Damn Scout. Damn this stupid new island. Damn this stupid new life. She never thought she would miss they way things used to be. But, now look at her; she would take her old life back in an instant. She would take back her unjust parents, ignorant packmates, clingy Aerandir, and annoying brother if it meant she wouldn't have to be here anymore. What could she have possibly done to deserve this fate? She didn't know whether to laugh at her misfortune or to lash out in anger to the unfairness of her life. Even a small part of her wanted to cry away her anxiety.'But, tears are for the weak,' she would remind herself. After all, when life changes to be more difficult, you have to change yourself to be stronger. So, no matter the circumstances, Oka would push on, she would never appear weak, never come off as delicate, never be known as powerless.
What a good pep talk. With new standards and her spirits lifted, she began exploring the lands of this damn island, again. In the distance she saw mountains and trees. Within the mountains she saw multiple openings that looked like caves, these were loner lands, after all. Perhaps this was where they made their dens. If Oka was going to be on her own, she'd have to find an unoccupied cave and make herself at home. She took in a deep breath and readied herself. She wondered how many loners she could piss off in one day; then she smiled for the first time in days.
She made her way to the nearest cave, keeping her senses open to any dangers or strangers. It didn't take long for her to pick up the scent of a nearby wolf. Male. Big. Not intimidating. So she came closer, it took no more than a few seconds for the femme to spot the white brute parked by the entrance of the cave, looking into the darkness. She slowed her pace and cocked her head to the side, watching him. It actually looked like something she would do, stare into nothingness. It was easier to think that way. She almost didn't want to disturb him, but the other, bigger side of her didn't really care. So, she strode forward until she was only about ten, maybe less, feet away, and cleared her throat. "Hello there, loner. Is this your cave?" She didn't know how else to word it.. She could have called it 'den', or 'home', she supposed, but cave was much more blunt. And she liked blunt. She kept her head high and her stance strong. After all, being strong isn't about how much you can handle until you break, it's about how much you can handle after you've broken. Count --> 479 w. Muse --> prettyy darn good :) Tags --> Kiddo
Just as Kiddo was wrapping up his thoughts and about to get up to go in search of some kind of home, a female approached him without announcing herself. He growled in his lowest voice. He was still in an irritated mood from the last female that he had dealt with. He had plans for Zaylin. Oh did he have plans. If he ever saw her again, he would rip her throat out before she even knew what hit her. It would be a lesson for others about fearing him. He needed to create a reputation for himself and he wanted wolves to take him seriously. He was not playing games. The large male rolled his eyes and turned to meet the female. He shot his half-tail up in the air to show his dominance and his thick ears were laid back. He showed her the razors that he held in his mouth. He was not going to mess this up again. She would know nothing about him. He would share nothing and if she knew what was good for her then she would submit to him immediately. The hairs along his back were standing straight up. This was the second female he had dealt with today and he was not a very friendly or social wolf. She was not a horrible looking femme but, it still gave her no excuse for being so rude and ignorant. Only a wolf with no respect for others would prance herself ten or less feet away from another. She was in his personal space and it was irritating. She needed to learn some respect. She held her head high but, he made sure as hell that his was higher. Her stance was strong but, he made his presence known. If she hadn't figured it out by now--he was not a happy wolf.
She was strong which was something that he originally wanted in a member of a pack, once he claimed land. There was no question that she was not strong but, if she could or would take a place under him. That he would need to figure out. There would be no offers like he had made for Zaylin. Just the thought of her name made him clench his teeth. If she wanted to be around him then, she would have to ask for permission to do so. No more hand outs. When she spoke, he decided that she probably wasn't here just to irritate him even though that's what it felt like when she had first arrived. She had no scent of a pack so, he assumed that she was another loner like himself. She probably wanted the cave to sleep in. He thought for a moment about lying to her and telling her that this was his cave just to see her reaction but then decided that it would be cruel. He relaxed his aggression because she was obviously not going to be causing trouble at the moment but he kept his dominance. He made sure that she was taking note of his impeccable size. No, I lay no claim to the cave. His voice was low but that was only because that was how his voice sounded. It was low and maybe a bit raspy at times but he didn't know why. The lowness was just from age but the rasp seemed to have no origin. Even though his body language had relaxed, his face still told her that he was not impressed. He kept on his toes in case he need to return to his aggressive stance. The big male hadn't moved from his place right in front of the cave because he wanted her to ask him to move. He wanted her to ask for his permission. This would show that she might be an okay member to have. He was going to be very cautious about who he talked about his planned pack with and he had to make sure as hell that the wolf was worth it. He needed to know what she could offer him because at this point, he wanted to whole package from starting members. He wanted wolves that could take command under him but, had a bit of a backbone to them that could make independent decisions while still keeping his orders in mind, he wanted wolves that could hunt and fight, and on top of all of that he wanted a wolf that was special in some way. Many might say that it was too much to ask for but, it was not so in his mind. If he was going to be a leader then he should be able to decide who he wanted to lead. It was not his fault if he was going to be the only pack with some kind of standards for his members. He wanted them to be able to fight with everything that they had but still remain composed and intelligent. He was looking for a very select group of wolves to live with him and they had to be perfect.
She found herself a few paces back, she wasn't looking for any trouble. She was actually exercising kindness for once. Her ears fell back, but her crown remained lifted. He reminded her strangely of her brother, Toklo. She saw a flash of the heir in his domineering stance and her heart twisted. Why was she so emotional today? It was so unlike her. But, this wolf was stuck on showing her who was boss around here. She wanted to roll her eyes, males sometimes... But, she was spent and she didn't have the energy to fight so she just raised a brow in confusion, unsure of what she had done so horribly to make this stranger so upset. It did remind her of home, though, in a way. Her parents were always angry or disappointed toward her for something. This wolf was bringing out a lot of her family members. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
She felt drawn to him in a way, maybe it was that he was so much like everything she knew.
But, at the same time she wanted to run as far from him as she could.
Conflicting emotions, confusion with the brute's behavior.. Loners didn't usually act this way. Maybe this was his cave, perhaps that's why he was acting so territorial and dominant. She made herself ready to exit the scene, she knew how to deal with territory disputes, if nothing else. She respected other packs' territory if she felt they were worth respecting. She wasn't familiar with the invisible, unspoken loner laws, but she would learn if she had to. "No, I lay no claim to the cave." His voice was deep, and rough. One that provoke an unspeakable emotion in Oka that she wasn't quite sure about. It made her dip her head, something she had never done before to a male or any other wolf. Her eyes shot open when she realized what had taken place. Had she just submitted to this stranger? She wanted to vomit.
She lifted her head again, after her mistake. And took a breath to answer. "Because this cave has no claim, would it stir your being if I took rest here?" This wasn't his cave to decide whether she rested here or not, but in either case he was right in her way. And, frankly, she did not want to have to push through him to get in there. It wasn't worth that much trouble. She could feel the weight of the past days on her shoulders, in her paws, and in her headache. Any other day she'd lay quick remarks and sharp comments to show that she wasn't one to be pushed around. Or maybe not. This brute was evoking strange behaviors from her.
This sucked. What was tearing down Empire Oka? Count --> 485 w. Muse --> decent <3 Tags --> Kiddo Notes --> ohhh boyyy. <3
The female had made a smart move bu stepping back a few paces to give him some more space. He was not used to having strangers randomly pop up ten feet in front of him. What was bothering him was that he hadn't smelled her coming. His nose hadn't been failing as far as he could tell so, the fact that she went without being smelled was interesting to him. He must be careful with his interest, he knew what it did for him last time. He had invested too much into the other female and that was not going to happen again.
This female was showing much more interest than the other one had. This one was actually being kind and respectful. It made him feel more comfortable with the situation. His breed was naturally very aggressive and dominant which was the reason for most of his actions. He could tell that this femme was not a Mackenzie Valley Wolf. She was smaller and thinner but, not too small. She held herself with a sort of posture that he liked. She looked a bit regal maybe or classy perhaps. She would be a much better investment for him.
When he spoke to her, she dipped her head which made him feel a bit more gracious. He stopped being so incredibly dominant behavior and relaxed his ears. He kept his head high and his half-tail lifted but, not so high as to make her feel more uncomfortable than need be. She was showing signs of being someone that he would want so, he wanted to make sure that she was only moderately afraid of him. He liked having others fear him. It made him feel powerful and in control. He hated out of control situations or conflicts.
She did it. She asked for his permission which is what he wanted her to do. He smiled a sly wily smile inside his own head but, kept his face straight. He took a few steps to the side so she would have room to get in the cave and motioned with his head for her to go in. What's your name? He asked her. He must know even though he wasn't entirely sure if he was going to tell her his name. What was he thinking? Of course he was going to tell her his name. He saw nothing horrible about telling one his name. But, he would keep his plans for a pack to himself. There would be time for that later--or never. He was thinking to himself about whether or not he was going to tell her about his plans. He probably wouldn't. he would probably just make a claim that was seemingly random and if she happened to be around and wanted to join than so be it. It sounded like a plan to him.
She could feel his eyes burning into her fur, and she felt slightly uncomfortable. Why was he so quiet? What was going on inside that mysterious mind? Was he plotting to hurt her? Or was he just being cautious? She flicked her ears awkwardly, but held his gaze. She wouldn't let him think she was afraid of him. She wouldn't show weakness. But, the comfortableness of the situation made her question if rest in the cave was such a good idea. She would be between this stranger whom she knew nothing about, and this cave. Does she really want to put herself in that kind of a pickle? 'Yes.' Whoa. Where did that come from? Was her defiant, stubborn self on the rise once more? Oka was always itching for a fight when it came to Toklo. She figured if she had as many victories as she could, it may make up for the once he received from their parents. The only important one. He made her want to puke.
She grimaced mentally at the thought of her brother, if she ever saw him again, it'd be too soon. And if she ever saw that damned Scout again, it would be too on his part. Because he'd be dead before he had time to remember her name. After a pause that felt like it had lasted a lifetime, the white brute side-stepped out of her way. She decided she could hold her own if she really had to get out of the cave. She pushed forward, only removing her watch on him as she passed by. The entrance was narrower than she had expected, and her darker pelt lightly brushed against his lighter pelt, and the skin underneath tingled. She wanted to shiver, to remove the feeling, but did not. She would hate for the Mackenzie Valley to think she was shivering in fear. God-forbid.
His deep, raspy voice tingled in her ears again and her heart skipped a beat. He asked for her name, she longed to hear his voice say her name. His voice was nothing she had heard before. And she had to stop herself from continuing her train of thought before she got herself in trouble. She stretched her limbs easily as she readied herself to lay down. She pondered whether she should offer him her true name or not, but she really could see no harm in it. She was rather new to this country, she did not have a reputation just yet. She faced him again and settled down in front of him, looking back up at him with her dark brown eyes. She smiled playfully. "A name is a personal thing, so I must ask what one would need that information for? I am more than happy to give it to you, though I would be honored to understand your motives, first." Now, there was the real Oka. It was time to learn more about this brute, now. Did he have a flirtatious, easy-going side? Or was what she has seen all that is him? Surely not. Count --> 515 w. Muse --> pretty darn good for 4:30 in the morning. Tags --> Kiddo
She was staring straight back at him. A bold move. She flicked her ears in a way that made him think that she might have been uncomfortable in his presence which was always a good thing. When others feel uncomfortable or scared then, he had the power. He was neither uncomfortable nor scared around this little female. He was confident that he could take her in any kind of a fight--excluding a verbal one. Words were not his strong point so, he tired to speak as little as possible for fear of looking unintelligent or confusing people. Hold on, did he just think the word fear? No, it couldn't be. Fear was not in his vocabulary. He felt no fear. Why did he care about what others thought about him? He was no longer an adolescent. He was an adult and shouldn't be bothered with such juvenile worries such as looking stupid in front of others. His speech was good enough. He could communicate what he wanted in complete sentences and that's all that matters. He was reassuring himself in his mind from this moment of uncertainty but, he kept it from his face. Heaven forbid she think that he was unsure of anything. He strongly believed that a leader needed to be strong and sure of any decision that one made. Uncertainty was weakness and he was certainly not weak.
She continued to watch him as she walked to the cave. He couldn't blame her for wanting to look at him. He was a very large and dominant acting male so, if he was her then he would be watching himself as well. She brushed up against him and he kept his gaze on her. How dare she touch him. She had no right to do something like that. They were neither friends nor mates at this point. He snorted and puffed out his stomach right as she was passing him. He wanted her to jump. He wanted her to be afraid and to think about her actions before she did them.
At the question of her name, the wolf who appeared to be an Apennine prepared herself to lay down. He let a sly smile creep across his face. The behaviors of females would never stop to entertain him. But what did she want? Was she trying to play with him? Was she truly submitting to him? Was she just tired and randomly decided to lay down before reaching the cave? He didn't know. Females had a tendency to lack logic so, knowing what they were trying to do was always difficult to figure out. The tone in her voice told him that she was being flirtatious. He should have known that was what she was doing. All of her body language pointed to that. Maybe he really was slipping off of his game. That was not good. He needed to be in tip top shape physically and mentally if he was going to start a pack and right now, the mental aspect of it was not doing so hot.
Well, if she wanted to flirt then flirt they would. He had minimal experience with the whole concept because most females cower and quiver in front of him and are too afraid to even think about speaking to him the way that she did. He was very new to this place and had no reputation--yet. That fact was soon to change but for now, he was going to have to play his game a bit differently. Besides, he wanted to know what this femme was all about. She seemed interesting to him but, so had Zaylin. He wanted to make double triple sure of who he was investing in before he invested. It was a mistake to make a rash decision about Zaylin before getting to know her and it was a mistake he would never make again. He slid to his stomach and the very beginning of his half-tail touched the ground. He let his posture relax because no wolf in their right mind would launch an attack while laying but, he kept his head at a regal height. I request your name simply because I like to know who I'm talking to and so I can refer to you as your name instead of "femme" or "fea." He had to admit that he didn't really like the idea of being demanded a reason for his question but, in all reality, she had a right to ask it. His voice was still deep and raspy sounding but his tone dripped with flirtatious attitude. He would have to keep himself in check so he would not give her too much information. For the most part, he wanted her in the dark about his plans for a pack. No harm can come of flirting, can it? He didn't think so. Besides, he heard somewhere that love is more powerful than fear. When he first heard this he laughed in the wolf's face but now, it was worth trying out. He still wanted her to be respectful of him and afraid but, if he threw in a sprinkle of emotion into the mix then, she would be putty in his paws. He could ask her to do anything and he was sure that she would have done it. But first, he had to make her have feelings for him. She was not hard on the eyes and she had the personality that he liked so, why not? It was worth a shot. He had to be careful with how far he went with this though. If her feelings for him were more powerful than her fear then, he loses power. He had to keep it at exactly the right balance for the most power possible.
What was he trying to do, scare her? She wasn't a pup anymore, and she couldn't think of a single thing that truly scared her. Being without Toklo. So, his being 'scary' act, wasn't flying with the Apennine femme. She merely paused her stroll, for a mere moment and merely looked at him was a wondering twinkle in her chocolate eyes, as if to say 'What are you doing?' before continuing the short trek to her resting spot.
This male was so odd, he didn't speak much, or move much unless it was a defensive or dominant gesture. Damn, even she wasn't that bad. Or to get her point across even better.. Even Toklo wasn't that bad. She decided pretty quickly that this brute needed to relax. And, hey, maybe she was just the wolf to help him out. 'I'll scratch his back, he'll scratch mine.' She could use a stress-reliever herself. These past couple months have been hard. And the last few days have really done a toll on her physically, mentally, and emotionally. And meeting this large male was the most interesting that had happened to her since she came to this forsaken continent.
He surprised her when he slid down to her level and lay down, facing her. He made a point to keep his head risen, but Oka held no competition for that. He was much larger than the fae, after all. His posture relaxed slightly, as he answered her request. She wanted to drag on this question as much as possible, just for the fun of it. Just until she saw a sliver of frustration. "Well, brute. Maybe I like it when you call me 'femme' or 'fae,'" the multi-colored wolf teased. "You know you're talking to me, so why don't you just call me whatever you want to call me, darling." She felt the urge to wink, but decided against it. He might view that as a little over the edge, too disrespectful. She was just having fun, what was life without a little excitement? Surely, he was looking for a bit of fun, too. Life was too boring living a life of strict order and, well, bore.
Count --> 364 w. Muse --> sucks. Tags --> Kiddo Notes --> Sorry it's so cruddy. I'm really spent.. >.<
Kiddo was actually enjoying laying here with the femme. He actually felt relaxed. Maybe he should lay down more often, take more time for naps, go off by himself and think. Nah. He was too busy at the moment with his idea of a pack. There were too many things to be done before he could truly relax. This was sort of relaxing but, not really because it had a purpose. He was only laying here because he wanted to confirm his thoughts about keeping her around. But at least she was fun to be around which was a plus. He needed wolves that he liked more than anything else. He needed wolves that could hunt, fight, offer something special to the pack and, he had to like them. It was a lot to ask for from the continent of Anikira but, he thought that it would make the best pack possible so that was what he was going to do.
When she responded to his answer he was a bit surprised. He thought that the deal was that he would answer her question and she would give him her name. He laughed a little bit at her answer. She was trying to be funny, was she not? Her tone was teasing to him so it must have been meant to be funny. His laugh was much like his voice--low and raspy. He rarely laughed except when he was laughing at someone's stupidness. It felt good to laugh. he should try to do it more often but, he knew that it probably wouldn't happen.
Well then I shall call you Femme. And Femme she would be for the rest of her life. No matter if she ever told him her name. It would be their secret inside little joke. He cared not if she called him "Brute" for the rest of his life. It was fitting and true. He was very large and masculine so, "brute" would be a compliment. She had turned this into a game for him so, he probably would not tell her his name either. His tone was equally flirtatious as hers had been. This was definitely fun. He crawled a little closer to her and he breathed in her scent. He wanted to remember her so, if they should ever meet again, he would know who he was dealing with. That is of course, if he decided she is not fitting. This action was also slightly an experiment. He wanted to see if she would sniff him as well. To see if she wanted to remember him. This was the real Kiddo. Most wolves don't know the kinder side of the large brute but, Femme had made him relax and when he was relaxed; his softer side came out.
Be careful. He was not going to take this too far. He was not looking for a mate or even a friend. Well, maybe a friend. He had to remember his mission. He could not be distracted. He would not be distracted. He crawled back away to where he was before as to not create unnecessary temptation between the two. He might have been strong looking on the outside but, he was still a male and he still thought and acted the way that males do around females. He would collect himself and control himself right now. No more of this nonsense. He would remain laying down and relaxed but, he would not be investing anything else into Femme until he knew more. That was final.
A laugh? Did she just squeeze a laugh out of him? What kinds of powers did this femme possess to achieve such an accomplishment as to reap laughter out of such a situation. When she first came up to this brute he was all puffed up and bothered by her presence s if she were a nuisance to his existence. And now, here they were laughing and joking and flirting like none of that tension had actually happened. But she could separate reality from in-actuality. She was not ignorant nor was she stupid. She knew strangers could not be trusted until trust had been earned. And this short period of time was by no means enough time to earn the faith of such an insecure fae with trust issues, like herself.
But, she couldn't hold back the giggle that escape her maw at his answer. So, she would be called 'Femme,' huh? Well, two could play at that game. "Alright, then. I shall call you 'Brute.'" It was only fair, after all. Oh, what a fun little game this encounter had turned out to be! He had calmed down and relaxed, just like she thought he needed to, and look how things were turning out, much better than the tension that hung in the air before. She liked this laid-back side of him. "How's that sound?"
She stayed perfectly still as he moved closer, absent-mindedly holding her breath as he breathed her in. She closed her eyes and let him do what he wished, she was not sure why he had done such a thing, but before he could pull away she found herself leaning in, eager to take in his scent as he had done to her. This way if they ever came across each other later on in life, they would recognize each other. 'And maybe we could skip the whole aggressive step and skip right to this part..' His scent was pleasant and sweet. So oddly placed with such a rugged-like wolf. But, it was a scent that was over-powering her, pulling her in...
Then he pulled away. And Oka was tossed back into reality like rain on the earth. She blinked several times, refocusing her eyes on the white male, in confusion. He was so complicated. Just like any other male. "Is something wrong..?" She tipped her head to the side, unsure what she had done wrong. Count --> 399 w. Muse --> better than before xD Tags --> Kiddo Notes --> mehh.
He was right. Femme was going call him "brute." He didn't mind the nickname, it was actually flattering. He took much pride in his largeness so, "brute" would be just fine with him. This whole relaxing thing was really something that he wished he could do more often. It was nice. But, he didn't have much time at the moment. To be totally honest, he had been rather anxious about getting some kind of territory claimed. He had been worrying that he wouldn't be able to find something that he could live in comfortably and had a decent supply of food. He wasn't looking for a garden of eden per say but, he wanted something that a group of wolves could live off of. It would be a challenge to find something like that. So far, all of the lands he has been to have either been claimed by another pack or had been designated for loners by the first wolves to ever set foot on the strange place. He wondered how they even got here. It was an island so it wasn't like they had just walked across a bridge. They could have swam, he didn't know how far other land masses were from it so it was possible. Or perhaps they had gotten here how he did. In a dark, inclosed, very small box. He would have laughed if that were the case. It would have been so ironic but, he was getting sidetracked. He had to finish what he started.
Femme was indeed going to be very useful to him. She was one of the only wolves he had ever met in his life that could make him actually lay down and relax enough to laugh. Come to think of it, she might have been the only wolf ever to accomplish that. How did that happen? He didn't know and frankly didn't care. This was a nice thing and he was glad that he had met her. Wait, what? He was glad to meet someone? That didn't make any sense. He was never a social wolf so, the thought of being calm and relaxed and happy with a stranger was unheard of. These females were going to be the death of him. Wonderful. He teased her despite his previous discussion with himself inside of his own head about staying on track and staying focused.
As he was sniffing her, he felt her lean a bit closer into him. It was a good sign. It meant that she liked him just a little bit at least. He was getting what he wanted like he always did. He wanted her to like him or have a little crush on him just to make her ties to him a bit stronger. Wolves that are friends with or have a crush on their superiors generally are more likely to not break the rules and do as they are told by said superior. But, there was always one or two who would think that because they were friends with or thought that their superior had a little crush on them as well that they could do whatever they wanted. That was a fact. So, he had to make sure that he kept the perfect balance between love and fear which would be next to impossible but, if he had to lean one way or the other he would rather lean to fear than love. Kiddo was a very Marxist wolf whether he realized it or not. He followed some of the same thoughts and morals as many Marxists had in the past. He would say nothing to her about leaning into him.
She cocked her head to one side to ask him if there was something wrong. How sweet. No, nothings wrong. He could have told her about how his boundaries that he had set up for himself forbade him from taking anything any farther than that but, that would be telling her too much about himself. His grey eyes that he had allowed to fall soft looked upon her. She was a very pretty female. Her colors were so different, so unique. He shook his head. He was getting distracted again. He stood to his feet and shook off anything that had gotten into his cream-like coat. He took a few steps forward and then bent hes head down to touch his nose to her muzzle as to invite her to go with him. I'm going hunting. Care to join me Femme? His low raspy voice beckoned with her to go with him and his voice filled with flirtatiousness when he said the word "femme." His now soft grey eyes looked at her browns for a moment then, he slowly continued walking. If she wanted to come then, good and if not then, that was good as well.
What he did not tell her was that he was not planning on actually hunting. Well, if hunting for territory counted then he was. He was growing sick of walking around aimlessly with no purpose. The time for a claim was coming soon and he needed something to claim. He knew that he wanted Femme as a part of his pack because she had proven herself useful to him. Not only was she beautiful, she could also calm him down. He kept his body language relaxed. His tail hung low and even his head lowered a bit. There was no need to be all puffed up at the moment. He had heard of two more places that he needed to visit but, if one of them seemed perfect or at least good enough before he got to the other one then, he would simply make a claim there. His biggest requirement of land was a decent climate so, if one had one he could live in then, it was good enough for him.
Oka hid her feelings of hurt and surprise from her facial expressions, no weakness. But, she didn't want him to pull away, she didn't want to stop. She wanted to see where this would lead, after all she had never felt this way toward another wolf.. Ever. She never had anything close to affections to another. Sure, there was Toiro. But, he was her brother. Besides, she didn't like him, right? She hated him. He abandoned her, and then tried to force her into a lifestyle she didn't want. How selfish of him. How absolutely egocentric and self-righteous. She knew her brother held himself on a high pedestal, but he had pushed her too far this time. This time, she left. She wouldn't be the abandoned one again, left for dead, left alone. No. So, no she had never felt affections toward another wolf before, but Brute had her thinking in a new light.
But, was this new light dangerous? Could this new light make her weak, vulnerable, even? Those words made her sick to her stomach. Oka would never be known as weak. She would never been caught vulnerable. That just wasn't her, she was too strong and independent for that, and there was nothing in the world that could change who she is at her core. Not even this mysterious new brute that had captured her attention. But, all he had to answer her question was three simple words. 'No,' 'nothing's,' and 'wrong.' She knew that was a white lie, why else would have pulled away like that? But, she didn't push him, didn't press on it. She just hoped she would get another moment like that.
He lifted himself from their resting stop, as if he were leaving and her heart sank, where was he going? Would she see him again? Why did she even care? But, there was no denying that she did, but that didn't mean she had to admit it out loud. He pressed his nose lightly to her muzzle, and her hope sky-rocketed again. She wanted to return with a lick, but nudged his jawline softly as he pulled away instead. Their eyes met and her heart beat was loud in her ears. But, not loud enough she couldn't hear his words. He was going hunting, and now that he mentioned it, she could feel her tight belly, empty. And, then he invited her along. She wasn't the best huntress, but she could catch a thing or two, and she would work on her hunting skills, eventually.
But his provocative tone was unmistakable, and that was the deal breaker. He started to go without her, as if he didn't care if she said yes or no, he was going anyway. She pulled herself to her paws and started after him. "After you, Brute.." She answered, with the same level of flirt in her voice, as she padded after him. She wasn't sure where they were going, she wasn't sure if they were coming back. But, she didn't look behind her. No weakness. Count --> 521 w. Muse --> Not too shabbyyy. Tags --> Kiddo Notes --> snow dayyyy. <3 where to next?
