The sun was only just beginning to shine through the cracks of the darkness, and the air was still moist and cool from the night now passed. It was the crack of dawn, and Sapphire had always found it to be one of her favourite times to hunt. The forest life would be just beginning to awaken, and well weary they would be driven by hunger and the need to rise. They would be exiting their dens for the first time today even know, sleepy and less aware, as well as more numbers out there. Later on in the day they would be a little more established beneath the sunshine, and that was why this was her favourite time to hunt.
Had been only yesterday she accepted her first border wolf into the pack – every other wolf here had come when she had established this place as her own. She had given him the rest of the day to explore Isata, letting him know the basics of the land. She didn’t have enough wolves to supervise him and simply had to trust her judgement on this one. She was proud that either word had reached out about Isata, or those passing by saw it worthy of making it a home. This new wolf had chosen the job of a hunter, and it had been that that had lead her here with this idea. It accomplished two things; it let her see how well he could hunt and if he was worthy of possibly a lead position, but more than that – she hoped it helped unit a pack that was quickly slipping away from her.
She had seen Jay, just shortly after accepting the new wolf, and she hoped that too would hear the call she was about to give and come join this hunt. Only time would tell who would actually show up... The white Alphess waited another moment, waited until it was light enough for those that only dwelled in the daylight to see there was and surely begin to exit their homes, before she threw back her head and let out a strong, authoritive call. It still held the warmth of all her calls, but it was also filled with determination, and a hint of her pride. Come, wolves of Isata, a meeting awaits you.
The morning sun as just beginning to show itself. It was a beautiful sight all by itself. it changed the colors of the sky around it. The air was crisp and cool on his colorful pelt but, it was not a problem for the grey male. The cold didn't bother him and his thicker coat.
It was indeed a good time for hunting. The animals would just be waking up and not fully aware of what was going on around them. besides, the slight darkness would give the wolves better coverage.
Ren had a good night sleep last night after Sapphire had allowed him to wonder her lands and get to know it better by himself. it was indeed a beautiful home and he had a feeling that today's hunt would go well. How could it not? Things had gone well yesterday so, why not today? He was rather skilled in group hunts so, he was confident that it would be a smooth clean kill. Normally, a wolf would have been nervous but, he could not find a thread of nervous inside him. He always remained calm because once one loses their calm, they begin to panic and when one panics, they lose control and do things they wish they hadn't. Ren refused to regret more than he already did.
His medium build frame trotted up to his new alphena and gave her a smile in greeting along with a small dip of the head. Good morning. A fine day for hunt, isn't it? He sat and waited for others to arrive so they could eat. He wasn't terribly interested in meeting a whole slew of other wolves but, he could handle one or two. For hunting purposes, the more the merrier but, for his social anxiety and claustrophobia, he wished there not be too many.
