Taqqiq’s paws were tired as they trudged once more across the Boryz Prairie, carrying him to someplace he didn’t know. He had steered clear of his old birthing den, not wanting to relive those haunting memories so soon; merely a week had passed since the deaths of his eldest siblings. But there he was, still wandering around the lands of Kamari, tied to the place but not truly wishing to remain there. Taq was, for the second time, alone. The first time, his little sister Kyra had tracked him rather successfully, which had surprised the black-pelted brute somewhat, seeing as she was blind in one eye. This time, however, was different. He had told his sister that he needed time for himself – to think, he’d argued, although he promised her that they would meet up again in a few days. Those “few days” had come and gone, and Taqqiq still had not gone to meet his little sister. He’d berated himself, sure, but he still had a lot of thinking to do. Where was he going? What would he do now? Where did he belong? Taqqiq just wasn’t sure, not just now.
A soft sigh escaped the gold muzzle, as the jade eyes glanced around, gold-tipped ears swiveling from side to side, pricked, and waiting. But he wasn’t sure exactly what he was waiting for. Taqqiq lowered his body to the ground, resting his gold maw on his black paws, eyes closing slowly. Maybe he would nap. He felt relatively safe here, despite what had happened merely a week before. Kamari was his home, the only place he had ever known. It was here, in these plains, in which he’d grown and thrived, playing with his sisters and wrestling with his twin, Tike. ’Tike…’ he whispered silently to himself. How he missed his twin brother. This was the first time in his life that he had been without that big, black-and-gold fur ball. He felt…different without his brother. As if half of himself were missing. It would pass eventually, Taqqiq knew that, but at that moment, he felt desperately alone.
Taqqiq rolled onto his side, letting the suns’ rays warm his side and stomach. It was late morning, maybe ten o’clock, and the angle of the sun was perfect. He let out a sigh of pleasure, a gentle smile pulling at his maw. For the first time since the death of Karima and Tibiki, Taqqiq didn’t feel so wretched. He felt rather at peace, and he wondered whether the pain was lessening. But then those horrid images came back into his minds’ eye. The female cougar, backing up, his eldest sisters springing at it from behind. The snarl rang in his ears, a ghost of a sound that would continue to haunt him for the rest of his life. The screams as Karima’s throat was slashed open, the gurgle of her last breath, as blood bubbled up at her throat…and then Tibiki. She had the worse fate, Taq thought, his body stiff as he was forced to relive the nightmare that had come to life. Tibiki had been ripped apart, alive. At least Karima had died instantly.
Taqqiq’s green eyes wrenched open, and he forced himself to his paws, shaking violently. He heaved, spattering the grass and small rocks with yellow-colored sick. Gasping for breath, he staggered away, wiping his gold muzzle on the grass. Coughing, his eyes searched wildly for a pool of water – it had rained on and off all week, but the clouds were finally passing. There would be water, he knew. After merely a minute, he found one. Plunging his muzzle into the insubstantial puddle, he sucked at the water, trying to rid his mouth of the taste.
After a moment, he pulled away, swiping his pink tongue over his maw. Taqqiq sighed and groaned, collapsing and covering his face with his paws. He needed to get over this, and soon. He thought of his parents sadly, and of Tike and Kyra. Was Kyra waiting for him? What were the others doing? He wondered if they were worried about him. Taq thought his mother must be, at the very least. He gazed upwards sadly, lost in his own thoughts.

Notes;; This is Taq's liquid time thread, the first being Shattered Lives and this happens a week after the first thread.
I'm thinking after the cubs are dead, the family can come in. Most likely Tike and Kyra, or Vorilye and Kallik. Family, don't post until you get my okay. <3
