By the time Aries had left the desert and quenched her thirst at the river that bordered her home, a faint pinkish-orange line had appeared in the sky. The lightened sky alerted Aries to the coming of morning, as the dawn light lightened her normally black vision; now she saw grey. She had sucked down water, shivering as it touched her dry, hot lips. It was pleasantly cool and refreshing, and it renewed her strength. Still, nothing would revive her better than rest. She’d moved into the dark cavern of Isdyn’s Deep, enjoying the feel of cool, smooth rock beneath her tired paws. A groggy yawn opened her jowls wide as she circled her den area, a small area of dark rock with a hollow, just big enough for her to curl up in. Another yawn parted her jaws as she laid her head upon her paws, closing her eyes. She fell asleep quickly, the sound of the river ringing in her ears. It was like a sort of lullaby, soothing her to sleep. It eased her worries, fears and anxiety, until she was blissfully unaware of her surroundings. Aries feel into Sleep’s loving arms, exhausted.
Aries woke up sometime later – it was nighttime, she could tell, because the landscape outside was dark and silent. She could see the dark grass – wait, see? See?! The female got up, startled. She blinked, saw the regular blackness, but as she opened her eyes again, she saw the cave entrance again, along with the rich grass outside, fertilized by the Pievunt-An. Aries gasped, not knowing if what she saw was actually real. Was this what seeing felt like? A clattered outside the cavern alerted Aries, and she fell silent at once, the hairs on her back and nape shooting upwards, causing her to seem twice as large. A shape loomed outside Isdyn’s Deep, and the femme started to growl.
But then, the shape entered. It was a male wolf, and Aries recognized him instantly as Rasalas. ”Ra-Rasalas.” she whispered, a touch of fear evident in her trembling voice, for she was not used to seeing her surroundings. ”Rasalas, I can see you!” she added in a hushed voice. When Rasalas didn’t respond, Aries bounded forward, feeling unsteady on her paws. ’Wow, I need to get used to this whole ‘seeing’ thing…’ she thought, sitting down instead. Tilting her head to the side, Aries grinned at Rasalas. ”It’s a miracle. I’m not blind anymore.” she told the brute. When he still didn’t respond, Aries frowned. She took another step forward, but then…he vanished. And so did the floor.
The Mexican female let out a scream and fell into the earth, the molten lava far beneath the rocky floor of Isdyn’s Deep burning her, cooking her alive. Her scream continued, even after the femme blacked out. But that was when poor Aries realized – she wasn’t awake.
Aries woke for real this time, her scream still reverberating across the walls. She started to cry, hot, harsh tears coating her face and the floor. She didn’t understand why she’d had the dream, or why she’d been able to see. She’d hand plenty of dreams before, but none like this, not a nightmare. And even in her best dreams, the blind female had never seen anything, only hearing, feeling and tasting whatever had been going on within them. Aries tried to stop her tears, but her fears and desperation had finally gotten the best of her.
Outside, the world was dark, just as it had been in her dream. Half of her wildly wondered if Rasalas was going to appear, while the other half continued to sob upon the cold floor. But after a while, the only sounds coming from the night were Aries' sniffles - Rasalas was not coming. The femme picked herself up and wandered outside, following the river. She would go for a stroll, she decided, and she would be back soon.

Edit - I've edited my post in order to made my liquid time thread go a little more smoothly - this thread isn't closing. Snuff, go ahead and respond when you can, and I'll have Aries wander back.
