She came to the edge of the mountains, to the place she called home. And by 'home' she didn't think of it as her place of residence, but in fact the place she returned to by instinct alone, her territory. Almost like a homing pigeon. The skies were far from clear, but a dark, threatening storm brewing. The air tasted thick and wet, rain couldn't be far off in the distance. But, she had to find Kiddo and Vada. She had important news for her pack, but she wondered how much had changed since she had been gone. She knew a lot had changed from the outside, but how much did Kiddo know?
She looked behind her for her companion, a white femme she had met during her time gone. She had information about their neighboring pack, horrible, horrible information that needed to be shared with Kiddo. She couldn't be too far behind her, she traveled slower than Oka, and complained a lot. 'Princess,' she snorted. Spoiled little Haishin princess. But, worth the mental pain for what she had to offer. If she didn't catch up with in in the next few minutes, she'd go looking for her. But, for now she lifted her muzzle and let out a howl, calling for Kiddo, wherever he was. This was urgent. Plus, she was home. He had to have missed her.
After all, she missed him. Right? Maybe. She would see how he would react to her return and then decide. Winter was coming soon, and with all this bullshit across the border, her pack needed her. She was here to stay this time. The Oriens were her true home now. Amar was her home. Kiddo was her home. But, then again, hadn't it been that way for a while now? Count --> 303 w. Muse --> Ehhh. Tags --> Sariya && Kiddo Notes --> welcome home, lil' bitch! <3
What had her life become? She had lost everything. Her mother was dead, she was all Sariya had left of her family. Her sister was dead, and her father never part of her life. Now she was alone. Her pack was no more, Kamari had been taken over by Vorilye and his terror of a pack. Scout was no where to be found, and now she was trekking across the mountains after some sour wolf who knew nothing of sympathy. Or rest. Sari was huffing and puffing many lengths behind her. She gave up asking her to slow down twenty questions ago, she figured if she fell too far behind than Zena would slow down until she caught up. If not, oh well, she'd move on with her life. Zena was the one that wanted her to come with her, something about warning her pack. Which was more than Haishin was given.
They had to be nearing their journey's end, they had been traveling for so long, ever since Zena had found her outside of Kamari, around the same area she had met Scout when she was only a pup. 'She had better be planning on stopping for shelter,' Sariya thought as she looked up in the sky. There was no way she would be walking in a thunderstorm. She hated rain, she hated being wet and how much heavier her coat was when it soaked up the water.
"Zena!" She began to call out to suggest stopping and looking for shelter, when she stepped out of the trees and in the open where her guide stood, raising her maw into an urgent howl. Who was she calling for? She suddenly felt a wave of terror. What if she was calling for Vorilye? What if she tricked her?
She took a vital step away from the fae, "Hey! Who are you calling to?!" She glared at the appenine wolf accusingly. All her instincts screaming for her to run, her body tense, ready to move in a moment's time if she had to. Her eyes darted across the terrain and her spinal fur began to prickle. How stupid was she to trust this wolf? Count --> 382 w. Muse --> It'll get better once I'm not role-playing with myself. Tags --> Zena && Kiddo
Kiddo was returning from yet another border patrol. He had been doing it a lot recently to keep his mind circulating and to make sure that everyone that came here knew where they were. Anyway, he was heading back to dens because the clouds overhead threatened rain. Which was weird during this minter month. It didn’t usually rain during the winter but maybe snow would come in it’s place. Snow was much better than rain. He didn’t exactly know why he liked the snow better. Maybe it had something to do with the colder temperature. Kiddo loved the cold. But, the air smelled thick and wet. Perhaps they would get one more shower before the real winter would begin.
He then heard a howling in the direction he was traveling. Surprisingly, it was one that he recognized, but from where? He knew that he had heard that voice before but he couldn’t place a paw on who it was. The voice was definitely from a female and it sounded urgent. Now who could possibly have something so urgent to show him or tell him? He honestly couldn’t answer that question. He didn’t want to miss whatever this was though. Kiddo lifted his own large head and let out a howl of his own saying that he was on his way. His voice had a rustic and deeper tone to it. He had grown to deal with the sound of his own voice but he had to admit that he didn’t love it.
When he had arrived, he thought that his eyes were deceiving him. Zena had returned! Oh how he had missed his Femme. Wait..what? Did that thought really just come into his head. He had missed her for so long but he still couldn’t make himself believe that feelings were brewing inside of him. Feelings were a foreign land for the now, quite successful alpha. There was himself, Hadrian who was the shaman, Lynker had joined and became a warrior, Evuwisp who was a hunter, Galdar was maybe around here somewhere and there had been considerable interest in the pack from loners these last few months and now with Zena and this...pup, child, thing? With her, that was at least 7 wolves.
The white wolf was tense like she was afraid of something. Kiddo decided to let it be. She would find out soon enough that he didn’t want to harm her, yet. As of now, she hadn’t done anything to deserve his wrath. However, the same could not be said for Zena. She had left and then returned what was it, twice now? What was this game she was playing? Whatever it was, Kiddo was not enjoying it. If she had some commitment issues then that was fine but she needed to leave until she figured those issues out if that was the case. If not, then she needed to figure out a way to not keep running of.
Long time no see, eh Zena? Tell me, where do you keep running off to? He greeted her. Admittedly, not the best way to greet someone but at least his tone wasn’t hard. He was more or less playing with her. It was only fair, yes? If she got to play these silly games with him with running off and then returning again then he could have some fun with her, no?
And who are you? Kiddo said as his attention turned to the younger looking female. She was too old to be Zena’s pup, wasn’t she? Wait a minute...no it couldn’t be. But that was what it looked like. The pup was young enough to be Zena’s child. He obviously wasn’t considering the timing of anything..he was just seeing the age.
((OOC: if Sariya is looking for Scout, He's in Ryala and would be more than happy to see her xD))
So, the princess had finally caught up. Zena could tell by the whiny, needy way Sariya had called for her. Luckily, they had finally reached the Oriens and she was safely back in Amar territory. Now, all she had to do was wait for her Brute's arrival. Her heart jumped at the thought of seeing him again. Which was too weird for words. Perhaps it was because Kiddo had been her only friend for quite sometime. Yes, that must be it, that would explain that strange feeling of affection toward him. That would explain the way she felt a need to be near him, or the spark when their pelts brushed. (Or maybe she had just imagined that?) It would explain her overwhelming instinct to protect him, the way she had during the bear fight. As strange as it was, Kiddo was her closest and best friend. Something she had never really had before. 'Well, I suppose you could count Aerandir, but that was involuntary.'
She heard the rumble of a growl behind her and she turned to look at the white fae. She was glaring at her, her body tense with paranoia. What had come over her? "Whoa, take it easy there, princess. We're in Amar territory. This is my home. I just called for Kiddo, my alpha, to meet us here so you can tell him what happened." The femmes hadn't really talked about what had happened to Haishin very much. Zena wasn't very good with comforting if Sariya started crying. That sort of thing made her uncomfortable. So, she tried to stay away from subjects that might have set her off. It must have been so hard to watch your own mother be slaughtered and your entire pack destroyed. Everything you ever knew.. Gone. Just like that. One day, everything was normal. And the next, you wash up on the shores of a mysterious place. No idea how you got there, no clues of what might have happened to the rest of your pack. Having your whole life ripped away from you was the worst thing a wolf could imagine.
Unless you happened to be Zena.
A deep, masculine howl tore through the air, pulling Zena from her grim thoughts. It was unmistakably Kiddo, she'd know that howl anywhere. A shy smile crept across her maw, "Keep your fur on, sweetheart. That's him, he's on his way." And before long, the light grey figure of a wolf appeared in the distance and it took all of Zena's willpower not to run up and meet him halfway. he didn't look much different from the last time she had seen him, maybe more confident and established, but he was the same Kiddo she had seen only months before. But, damn, was he a sight for sore eyes.
'Uhhh, I mean, it's good to see him,' she thought wearily, as he came closer, her heart was beginning to speed up.
When he reached the pair of femmes, Zena's tail began to wag softly. She really had missed him, more than she gave herself credit for. Though, his greeting was much less than the feelings that were stirring in Zena. His tone was playful, but she knew better than that. He was annoyed and he wanted answers. Zena brushed off the anxiety that was creeping up her spine and without missing a beat answered with, "Hello, Kiddo. Why, yes, I'm fine. No, I'm not hurt. Thank you for the concern," her words were nothing short of lighthearted, and her eyes danced with the joy of being home. "I went out searching for my brother, Toklo. I wasn't meant to be gone so long, but I ran into some... problems." For lack of a better word.
Her attention turned toward Sariya, where Brute's eyes fell. Zena took the liberty of speaking up for the young fae. "This, Brute, is one of my problems," she began with a sigh. "Kiddo, meet Sariya, the former heiress of the former Haishin Pack." Zena's once playful eyes suddenly clouded with trouble. She wished she could have brought back better news for her arrival home.
"Trust me, darling, I won't be leaving home anytime soon." Count --> 745 w. Muse --> Today, veryyyy good Tags --> Kiddo && Sariya Notes --> Yeah, I'm going to stick her in a thread with Scout and Vixen when this one is finished.
Well, Kiddo was glad to see that Zena hadn't changed at all during her time away. Well I would imagine that one capable of fighting off a bear could take care of themselves. He said to her in response to her remark of him not asking how she had been. Well forgive him for being more concerned with why she had abandoned the pack and more importantly, him. He played with her with his words. He didn't want this to turn into a serious meeting. Zena had the ability to make him feel light and free, an ability that didn't seem to be possessed by any other wolf. It was certainly a talent that was worth keeping around for Kiddo. Especially because she also had great warrior skills despite her smaller size. Well, she was small compared to him but then again, most wolves were.
I see, and I'm assuming you haven't found him? Kiddo was unaware that Zena had any family at all. If she had told him about a brother, he had forgotten it. To be honest, she didn't seem to be the type of wolf to have a family for some reason. He always just assumed that she had been alone for the majority of her life but he guessed he was mistaken. Of course he could never be wrong. He was just unaware of certain information. Yes, that was it. He had been unaware that Zena had a brother.
She had also spoken of some problems that she had run into on the way. Well, by the looks of her, she had fared well during those issues. She didn't look like she had so much as a scratch on her. She did look good though. No. He couldn't be concentrating on that. It didn't matter if it was breeding season or not, he had to keep his head on his shoulders. That was what he told himself in his head as she started talking about the young white wolf.
A princess, huh? Well I hope you didn't bring her all the way here just to say hello. A former princess. That was something interesting. Perhaps her pack had died? Perhaps she was from another island? That was one disadvantage to living behind mountains. One never really knew what was going on in the world around them. Yet another reason why he was thinking of expanding.... Kiddo's words were mostly directed at Zena who had introduced Sariya. Kiddo wasn't paying much attention to her although he was interested in what she had to say. Zena's tone told him that it wasn't good news. Kiddo then turned to Sariya and waited for her to say something.
She was beginning to wonder if she was ever going to get used to Zena's saucy remarks, she certainly wouldn't be treating her like this if she still had her pack and her rank. Or maybe Zena would. Sariya wanted to roll her eyes, she still wasn't sure if she trusted this femme. But, really. Who could she trust these days? It was amazing how quickly she went from being a happy-go-lucky pup to... This. She had never felt so alone. Vorilye had most likely slaughtered what was left of her pack, but what about Scout? He had left before all this nonsense with Descai broke out, maybe he was still out there, still alive!
She felt a spark of hope kindle in her chest, maybe she wasn't so alone after all. When she was finished here with Zena and her pack, she would seek out her friend and any other pack mates that may have escaped the wrath of Vorilye. But, for now, she refocused on what was happening in the present, with Zena.
So, the were in the Oriens now, safe behind Amar borders, away from Vorilye and Descai. But, when had that ever stopped the awful brute? Borders didn't stop him from killing her mother and it certainly wouldn't stop him from seeking her out. Zena had also mentioned she was calling for her alpha, Kiddo? What an interesting name for an alpha. She had heard rumors about a new pack so nearby to her own, but her mother wasn't particularly interested in them, so Sariya tried not to let her curiosity get the best of her, either. Now, she had met Zena, a warrior of that pack, and she was about to meet the alpha. She wished she could report back to her mother, but there was no one left to report to.
Soon, an echoing howl reached her ears, one deeper and rougher. Not Vorilye. She let out a quiet sigh of relief and allowed her body to ease, just a little, and her hair to begin laying flat. Zena labeled the sound as Kiddo's, and she began to smile shyly. "My fur is perfectly fine, maybe you should be worried about your own," she teased, she had expected Zena to say something else, something sassy in reply. But, before she could spit something out, a large wolf made his way toward them, it didn't take him very long to reach them, Zena was now wagging her tail. Sari hadn't seen the bitter fae so pleasant in their journey here.
Sari decided to remain quiet and allow the packmates to get reacquainted, from the way the alpha spoke, it sounded as if Zena had been gone for a while, and this wasn't the first time, either. Sari could remember times when she was away from home for days at a time, in fact, one of those times she had met her dear friend, Scout. Sometimes, time away was what was for the best.
So, Zena had been out searching for her brother, Toklo. The name didn't ring a bell. She wished she had a brother to search for, or a sister maybe. She wished she had any family she could have any hope of finding. Her stomach knotted with grief. It wasn't fair.
Finally, the conversation turned her way, Kiddo asked who she was, Sari lifted her head in acknowledgement. Before she could answer, Zena spoke up, introducing her. Her introduction was perfect, until the end. Sariya shot the other fae a look as if to say "Hey!" She wasn't a problem, Vorilye was the problem, not her. She supposed this was the time where she was supposed to let loose everything that had happened the past few months, but, Sari didn't want to. She didn't want to talk about her horror story.
'The sooner you tell him, the sooner you can find Scout,' she encouraged herself. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "Sir," she began respectfully, "Have you heard of a pack called Descai?" Count --> 698 w. Muse --> Good Tags --> Kiddo && Zena Notes --> Scout I miss you!!!!
The little white female finally spoke up. She asked him if he knew of the Descai pack. Yes, he did know of that pack up in Acerbus. Bunch of mangy, uncivilized, wolves running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Kiddo thought to himself. The last he knew, there was some drama over some pups that were going to be born? The mother had run off to another pack..although he was forgetting which one that was and then it was rumored that the alpha..whatever his name was (Kiddo couldn't remember if anyone had actually told him his name and he was forgetting it or that no one had told him that alpha's name)... went looking for her. How sweet. Yes, I know of them. Kiddo responded to her. He was curious as to what she had to say. He hoped that she wasn't coming here to tell him news that he already knew which would be a big waste of time for everyone here. But, the fact that Zena had said "former heir"earlier. It was something that most wolves wouldn't bring up unless they were making a point or unless they were Zena.
He could also see that Sariya and Zena weren't getting along too well. Perhaps it was the long journey or perhaps they didn't like each other. Either was fine with him. He honestly didn't care whether Zena and Sariya were the best of friends or the worst of enemies. The inner workings of the pack, Kiddo knew about but he didn't take it into great consideration when deciding things for members to do. He assumed that this Sariya didn't want to join, which was also fine. He wasn't desperate for members, especially members that were of the "princess" type. In which case, made Kiddo even more interested in what Sariya was going to tell him. It must be something that both she and Zena thought was important. Kiddo was now quite intrigued by the reason why she had come here.
(( This is a terrible post and for that I apologize. Also, I assumed that you didn't want to double post so I posted with Kiddo (obviously) if you want to post with Zena right after Sariya then we can do that but if not I'd just assume to do it this way))
A simple reply from the alpha of Amar, but enough to send Sariya's mind reeling. Where does she start? She wondered just how much this brute knew about the inner workings between Descai and Haishin. Not wanting to confuse him or leave any important information out, she decided to assume that he knew nothing. She took a deep, shaky breath before she began to speak again. "Let me start from the beginning, Alpha Kiddo. I apologize if I say anything that is already known in your realm." She looked over towards Zena, seeking any kind of support she could. Her mind had been running from the horror story that had become her life, and now it was time for her to stop and turn around and face it.
"You see, when I was just a pup, my mother, the alphess of Haishin, named Akhira harbored a pregnant wolf. She fed my mother a sob story about how the father of her pups was after her, out to kill her and her pups. Naturally, my mother took pity on her, she did not realize the lethal capability of her decision. She didn't know the fatal effects it would have on her pack. How could she have?" The image of Kallik, pregnant and crying, begging for Akhira's help. And Sariya hated her for ruining her life, taking away what hope was left of having a family. She had no right to ask such a favor from her mother. She had no right to intrude on her pack.
Her mind traveled to the meadow where she had met Scout, he had escorted her, the frightened pup, home. Neither of them expected the chaos they had returned to. "My mother had gone to Descai, to confront Vorilye, she wanted to know just what had happened. He threatened her and my pack, saying that he wanted Kallik. He didn't even care about his own pups. He said he didn't care if he had to go through Haishin to get to her." What had Kallik done to deserve such hate from Vorilye? Why didn't he care about his pups? How could a father not care about his own blood kin? Why didn't Sari's father care? She grimaced, her father was just like Vorilye.
Her mind retreated from that overbearing thought and came back to the story. "And that's just what he did. He ignored our borders and came right into our dens. He ambushed my mother, taking Kallik, and leaving my mother blind in one eye. A sick warning on what was to come." Her mother had been so beautiful. Inside and out, and Vorilye destroyed her. But, she didn't blame Vorilye completely. It was Kallik. She hoped that bitch was dead.
Sariya closed her eyes tight, readying herself for the hardest words she would speak. "My mother went after Vorilye. She had to. Only one could live, either her or him. And it had to be her, I needed it to be her." Akhira didn't deserve to die because of her kindness. "Then, something really bad happened. Akhira mistook Vorilye's son for Vorilye and killed him. You can imagine how well Vorilye took that. He slaughtered my mother, it only took seconds. He fed her to the fish." It happened so quick. She didn't deserve to go out like that, she deserved a proper burial, at least. Just another thing a Descai wolf stole from her.
"Vorilye went into Kamari, he killed any Haishin wolf he found there, then claimed the territory as his own. He's ambitious, and evil." She then looked up at Kiddo, meeting his eyes for the first time since she had began speaking, her eyes filled with more pain than such a young wolf should have. She wasn't even two yet. How could her life already be so shattered? "And he'll do the same to Amar, if given the chance. Excuse me, he doesn't even need a reason. He'll do it just because he wants to." She wasn't asking to join, she wouldn't put Zena's pack in the same danger Kallik put Sariya's in. She wasn't looking for pity, she knew how shitty her situation had become. "I just thought you should know just what Vorilye and his pack are capable of. I don't want you to bear the same pain of losing your loved ones, as I have." She looked from Kiddo to Zena, she saw the way Zena had looked at Kiddo, it didn't take a genius to figure that out. Count --> 805 w. Muse --> Not bad. The white female took a moment to do what Kiddo thought to be gathering her thoughts to tell him her story that she had traveled so far to tell him. Kiddo waited somewhat patiently for her story to begin. The longer it would take for her to begin, the worse Kiddo thought the news would be. Kiddo had developed this weird habit where he would assume the worst of situations if he didn't know the whole story or any of the story. This was the case here. Thankfully, she started her story before the story in his own head got too crazy.
She began by telling her that when she was young, her mother who was the alphess of Haishin had taken in a female who was pregnant. It was a bold move on her mother's part. Kiddo did not know if he would have done the same thing. To take in a runaway pack member was a death sentence in most cases and he figured that this was where this story was going. Kiddo knew that death would go upon any pack that was harboring any wolf that was going to birth his pups. He would have declared war on that pack. She also said that the pregnant female fed her mother a sob story. Pathetic. If any wolf was wanting help from him, telling him some sob story was not going to work. He would have just assumed that they were lying and turn them on their way. Groveling on the other hand, would work better. That proved true when Artemis had joined the pack. Her calling to him had been beyond rude but she had saved herself with her words and now he had to see if he had made the right decision in allowing her to live here. Only time would tell that though. Kiddo nodded to the female, showing her that he was listening and following her story. So far, he had seen several flaws in what the alpha female had done and as of then, he was in agreement with whatever punishment she had received.
She then went on to tell him that her mother had gone to Descai to confront the alpha there named Vorilye. Ah, so that was his name. He was sure that he would need it later so he was sure to remember it. Kiddo saw now flaw in confronting another alpha but confronting one that had said that they were out for revenge and was looking to murder another wolf along with his own pups was sketchy but it was a brave move to protect her pack to the best of her ability so he couldn't judge her for that. Vorilye had apparently threatened the Haishin pack and said that he would disrespect the pack's boarders to get at the wolf named Kallik. Vorilye must have hated that wolf quite a bit. This story was very interesting and got even more interesting every second that she told it as it got thicker and messier.
The white female then went on to tell him that Vorilye had gone through with his plan and had taken the female and blinded the alphess in one of her eyes. Well, that wasn't so bad. Kiddo was sure that this story was over now. A bit disappointing that it had been such a waste of his time. He seriously had not just came all the way over here to hear that an alphess was blind? Wait..no it's not done yet. The white female continued with her story.
Her mother had gone after Vorilye. More revenge. It was plane to see at this point that one of them was going to die. When alphas fought, one of them almost always died. Kiddo hadn't been an alpha very long but he had gained quite a bit of knowledge and experience in that short period of time. What the female said next was shocking. There was not only one death, but two. Akihra had mistaken one of Vorilye's sons as Vorilye and killed him and the the real Vorilye had killed Akihra and dumped her body in a lake. At this point, Kiddo wasn't sure whose side he was on in this. Akihra had harbored Vorilye's pregnant member and them killed one of his sons. But Vorilye had disrespected pack boarders and left the alphess blind instead of killing her on the spot. Akihra seemed to be in the fault in Kiddo's mind but that wouldn't mean that he would be trusting Descai with anything any time soon. My condolences for the death of your mother. Kiddo said to her, looking at her and seeing her sorrowful look and how horrible her situation was. Thank you for sharing this story with me, you may have saved the lives of many. Kiddo would have to do something quickly. He would not lose his pack to some power-hungry, revenge lustful alpha who just wanted more land. Kiddo's mind was racing as he looked to his own paws and thought for a long moment, trying to come up with some kind of a plan.
Kiddo was respectfully quiet as she spoke of what had happened these past months. She would have thrown out questions through the entire thing, if she were on the other side of this. Sariya may almost be physically mature, but she was still very much a pup. She wished she could go home and cuddle up next to her mother in the dens, like none of this had ever happened, wiped away clean. She just wanted her life back, no matter how broken it had been. She couldn't believe she had taken it all for granted, hated it almost. How could she long for something so desperately that she had once wanted to changed so dramatically?
The Amar alpha apologized for her mother's death, to which she simply nodded. What was one to say to that? How do you respond to someone saying that they were sorry for your mother's life being taken away? Where did you go from there; what was the next step? Sariya hadn't a clue and she was scared to try to move on. All she could think about was finding Scout. She needed her friend.
Then, Kiddo thanked her for sharing her story, he said she may have saved lives. Well, at least she had done something right. At least something in her life wasn't falling to pieces. But, she couldn't bring herself to smile. "You're welcome, Alpha Kiddo. I pray you take heed to my warnings of Descai. They cannot be trusted." She knew if she made the same mistakes her mother did, underestimating the pack, he would face the same doom as she would. And Amar Pack would be the next to be wiped out.
"I won't ask you to take me into your pack, like other wolves may. I won't put you in the position my mother was in. But, I request to have a meal on my way out, if you allow me,"
[/b] Sariya's stomach was beginning to twist in hunger as she thought about the journey to find Scout. She didn't know where he was, it would take quite a while for her to find him. She only hoped she didn't run into one of Vorilye's wolves before then. She would have to avoid Kamari and Acerbus.
She then turned to Zena, the warrior who had protected her, even though she was a pain in her rear Sariya was sad to leave her here. Sari didn't have many friends, and these days they were fewer and farther between. "Thank you, Zena. For taking care of me, and I'm sorry if I burdened you or caused you any problems." She left it at that before she turned to leave. She would walk along the mountains toward the northern shores and start in the loner territories, maybe catch drift of where Scout's whereabouts may be.

Sariya nodded respectfully to his apologizing for her mother's death. It was refreshing to know that young wolves around this island weren't completely hopeless. Kiddo had feared that all younger wolves would be disrespectful and uncivilized but it looked like Sariya's mother had trained her well. Perhaps Kiddo would have pups of his own. He had formed this pack with the knowledge that there would need to be pups born into it to make it healthy and strong.
Kiddo nodded as Sariya talked to him about heeding her warning. He had to admit he didn't really enjoy taking advice from a wolf who wasn't even two years old yet. Actually, it made him sick inside. But, she was speaking the truth. Descai could not be trusted. Granted, Akihra had killed Vorilye's son, Kiddo would have to do something quickly to protect his pack. He wouldn't allow everything that he had worked so hard to create be destroyed by some angry, brooding alpha that could only gain respect from his pack members through fear. Kiddo expected a respectful fear from his members but he wasn't interested in wolves that quivered and shook on the ground in front of him.
Sariya was a smart wolf. He still wouldn't have accepted her into his pack because of her relations to Akihra. He was sure that Vorilye would come looking to her and he sure as hell didn't want her to be here when he does. Kiddo thought about giving her something to eat. He really didn't want her here and he wanted her to leave as quickly as possible but he supposed that a quick meal before she left wouldn't be so awful. She had possibly saved his pack from destruction so, he guessed that she could have something small to eat. Even though it was nearing winter quickly and the pack needed everything that they could get. I suppose you can have something to eat but keep it small and stay near the boarder. She didn't need an entire deer to feed just herself and besides, she couldn't catch one anyway even if she wanted to and there was no way he was helping her catch it. He had too much to do now. He had so much planning to do, so many decisions to make. He would need to converse with Lynker and Zena together and figure this out. They were both his warriors and it seemed as though this may turn into a conflict with Descai. His plans for expanding seem as though they must be put on hold as this was a much more pressing issue. What to do? Did he need to prepare his pack for war? Did he have to work out some kind of a deal before Vorilye came through here? Kiddo didn't know. What he did know what that Descai's alpha was getting a big head and someone needed to bring it back down to size again. It was never healthy for anyone when and alpha believes he can take over whatever he wants just because he wants it. There are rules to wolf society, even between different packs. Declaring war on a pack for no other reason than because one wants more land, is insanity. Perhaps he would have to work out some alliance but he didn't want to do that right now. He didn't want to make any rash decisions. He wanted to wait and see how things were going to pan out before choosing a side.
As Kiddo was lost in thought, it appeared as though Sariya had left and now he was standing alone with Zena. Looking from this situation of an outsider's point of view, it may have seemed like a perfect situation but in Kiddo's mind, all he could remember was the last time they were together alone. They had been near the dens, talking. He had changed her name from whatever it was before to Zena. He had chosen a beautiful name...for a beautiful wolf. She had been haunting him in every dream since she had left in search of her brother. Her eyes seemed to have followed him around wherever he went. This wasn't fair. This wasn't supposed to happen to him. These feelings that were bothering him were not supposed to exist. He was supposed to be able to take whatever female he wanted without discretion but Zena was the only one he seemed to want. She had been with him since the very beginning of this pack. He had actually known her before it was created! Kiddo couldn't deal with these emotions right now. He had his pack to worry about and he could afford to be figuring them out. He also remembered the pain in her eyes that day that they were last together. How much pain he had caused her. It was possible that she didn't feel anything for him anymore, it was possible she had never felt anything to begin with. Here he was, all sorts of confused about his feelings for Zena and he didn't even know if she felt the same way! How silly he was. He would just need to forget about those silly feelings inside of him.
He looked at Zena and then up to the sky which was still threatening rain though it hadn't shown other signs of actually raining other than the darkness of the sky and the smell of the air. He looked back at Zena, he looked her over once. Examining her, one might say. He looked back at her face, trying to not see the beauty that lay there. He wasn't sure what to say to her, so he would wait and see if she came up with anything.
That was the longest Zena had stayed quiet in a while. She had often wanted to throw in her two cents, but she figured her and Kiddo would have time to discuss what had been said once the fair femme had gone. She knew she had much to discuss with her alpha.
She could tell Sariya was a princess by the way she spoke. So formal with words that were beyond her years. She was still a pup and she spoke and held herself as if she were Kiddo's senior. Poor girl needed to realize she wasn't an heiress anymore before she got herself into some trouble. Though, she had to respect her courage when asking to snag a meal from Kiddo on her way out, after all, winter was approaching quickly and prey was beginning to become scarce. She was honestly surprised the large alpha had agreed to allow her to some, no matter how small. She wondered if Amar had grown from herself, Kiddo, and Vada. If not, perhaps that was why he had handed her a free meal so easily.
The snow white princess then turned a thank Zena for her care and apologized if she was a burden. Zena smirked, "Well, let's just hope it was worth my while." Then, not wanting to leave on bad terms added, "Thank you for sharing your story with us, Sariya. I'm sorry you have been put through so much. Safe travels." She nodded to the young wolf and watched as she walked away toward the borders. Zena wondered if she would ever see her again. What were the odds that Vorilye would get a hold of her before they had the chance? Zena frowned, she almost felt bad for letting the fae go by herself without protection. As much of a pain she had been, she didn't deserve that fate, she shouldn't have to suffer for her mother's mistakes. She sighed, perhaps it was out of her paws. She couldn't let herself take responsibility for her. She had her own pack to worry about right now.
She looked over at Kiddo, who seemed to be already looking at her. She smiled and looked away shyly. Ages over being apart, only to find themselves alone again. Where was Vada? Out hunting perhaps, she remembered Kiddo saying how she was interested in a hunting position, maybe she had achieved in such. And Kiddo, it was obvious he had grown into more of an alpha than when Zena had left. The way he spoke to Sariya and handled the situation with such a calm ease.. He seemed to be going over it all now, in his mind. She wondered what he was thinking, what plan he was forming.
It was so quiet, he hadn't spoken a word since Sariya left. Was he angry with her? She had been gone for a while, but it benefit them in the grand scheme of things. She had found out some important information, from the source. If she hadn't left, what were their chances of ever finding out? Descai could have over taken them by surprise and they never would have seen it coming.
"I am worried about Amar's safety. We need to figure out a way to protect ourselves.." She took a step toward the quiet alpha. "Maybe we should even think about some sort of... Insurance. And by that, I mean thinking about an alliance with another pack. Could we protect ourselves from Descai alone? And even if we could, it would be a nice security knowing that would had allies to make sure that we could." Zena's eyes searched for Kiddo's. Frankly, she didn't care if he thought she was overstepping her bounds. Amar was her pack just as much as it was his. She was the first member, she was with him before he claimed these lands, and she would protect it just as if she were an alpha as well. Count --> 679 w. Muse --> Not bad. Kiddo looked up again at the sky. It was oddly very beautiful when it was threatening rain and storms. It may be the last one of the season before the winter snow settled in. The dark grey sky coupled with a few loose leaves that were left over from the fall still floating around in the wind, made a creepy feel in the air but Kiddo liked it for some reason.
He looked back at Zena who was now looking at him as well. The eye contact left him with a weird...tingly..feeling inside of him although he didn't want to look away. Those beautiful deep eyes that he had missed for so long. But now was not the time to be getting lost in them. They had much to talk about but not right now. They needed to get back in the dens and Zena needed to acquaint herself with the new members. She hadn't been here since Vada had been around. She had been long gone as well and he didn't think she was ever going to return. Although, he didn't think that Zena would ever return to him either. Now, he had loyal members that wouldn't dare leave with the exception of Hadrian who left occasionally for herbs and such.
Zena finally broke the uneasy silence. She said that she was worried about the safety of Amar. He was concerned for the safety for them all as well. Descai was a new-ish pack. They had been around longer than Amar had for sure but they weren't a "seasoned" pack by Kiddo's definition. He had heard through the grape-vine that their numbers were growing. Amar's numbers were good and they were growing slowly. Let's see, there was him, Hadrian, Lynker, Curse the bear, Astra the bird, Ria the leopard, Artemis, Evuwisp and Nashira and now Zena. That was eight members not including himself. They may be able to hold their own in a battle but he had no idea what the numbers were of Descai. He only knew that they were getting bigger.
Zena took a step forward and continued. She proposed that they should have an alliance with another pack. She also brought up the fact that they may have trouble fighting on their own. Our numbers are strong. Eight total not counting myself. We are going to have to figure out something relatively quickly but for now we must get back to the dens before the sky breaks and rains. You may want to acquaint yourself with the members, especially Lynker. He is my other warrior. The three of us will have a meeting at a later date to decide what Amar's next move will be. An alliance is a good idea but I want to see what other options we have before we tie ourselves to another pack. As Kiddo finished his speech, he looked at Zena to make sure she was following what he had said. He thought it was pretty straight forward. An alliance wasn't exactly what he wanted. He wanted his pack to be independent and under his rule only. He didn't want the mistakes of another pack to influence his own pack. But was allying themselves the only way to keep them all safe? He much to think about. Come, it's starting to rain. Kiddo said as he felt sprinkles on his lush coat. He started to the mountain to get to their den site. It would be a bitch to climb it if got any wetter. If Zena didn't want to get drenched, she would follow him.
Kiddo didn't seem too enthused about allying with another pack. And she had to admit, the idea wasn't too glamorous. She herself had been quite independent, joining Amar was a step up from where she was before. Now, getting involved with another pack, as well? She didn't want to tie herself down too much. Zena like her freedom and she intended to keep some of it. But, on the other side of things, she wanted to make sure her pack was safe. And she would do just about anything to make sure Kiddo was safe. Not, that he couldn't hold his own. He proved that to her during the bear attack. And, well, just look at him. Muscles speak louder than words And just look at those muscles.... Zena remembered back to the bear fight and how brave Kiddo was, how deliciously his muscles rippled under his pelt. The thought made her body heat up in a way that should make her uncomfortable, but was actually invitingly seductive.
Zena forced herself to look away from the alpha, trying to refocus her thoughts on the problem at hand, but it was hard to push Kiddo out of her mind. He was always there, no matter how long she was apart from him, his memory always lingered in her thoughts. No wolf had ever had this effect on her, she never really cared about another wolf before like she had Kiddo. Not even her own brother. She wasn't able to find him, and while she hoped he was okay, he wouldn't cloud her thoughts anymore. He didn't matter enough to the fae, not now and not ever, really.
Kiddo had mentioned there were now eight members in Amar. That was five more than when she had left, the pack was blossoming wonderfully. She would have to meet every one, and try to be nice. She wasn't one for being around other wolves, but she could give out a few kind introductions and then call it good. It was open season from then on. She wouldn't hold her tongue if they began to annoy her. Hopefully, they would learn to just give her the space she needs, quickly and painlessly. And, then Kiddo said something that really surprised Zena. "Wait a minute. Lynker? That wolf who hangs around with the bears? I thought he hated us?" Zena scrunched her brow in confusion. Last she had heard of Lynker was when Kiddo and him had went at it over control over the Oriens.
Kiddo had won, of course. Oh no, here came the muscle thoughts and the heated feelings, again. Zena felt her heart contract as Kiddo made a movement to leave to get out of the rain. Maybe she should stay and let the cold rain water cool her down, but the last thing she wanted was to be away from her Brute, she had just reunited with her old friend, after all. So, as her pelt began to heat up again, she took off after the strong alpha toward the dens to have a meeting with Lynker. That was still a strange thought for the warrior princess. She wanted to snort. Princess, maybe once upon a time. But not now, not ever again. Count --> 548 w. Muse --> Not bad for dragging my feet to get it up. xD Tags --> Kiddo Notes --> You can post here again if you'd like, or we can just continue in another thread with Jay? We could also start their mating thread if you'd like... or wait until after the meeting with Lynker to get it on bahahahaa..
Zena appeared as though she understood him. He had a pretty good idea that she didn't want to be allied with another pack either. He knew that she was an independent wolf but she must have been at least a little willing to give some of it up? She had joined here after all. Granted, that was when there was just Vada, himself and her. She must have known though that the pack would have blossomed beyond that. Kiddo wouldn't have settled for such a weak number of pack members for long. He wanted the best pack on the island. He wanted to be the king. Kiddo thought of himself as a fair alpha. He liked to run things diplomatically. If someone wanted a rank, he would let them test for it. If they succeeded then the got the rank. If not, they didn't. It was a simple yet effective method. He figured that if members were happy in doing what they were doing, they would do it better than if he would have forced them into whatever he wanted. At the moment, they needed more hunters. Evuwisp and Artemis had both expressed interest so he would see them both hunt and pray that they were as competent as they made themselves seem when they joined.
He saw Zena's surprise at Lynker's name being associated with the pack coming. Yes, him. Turns out that he was having issues with the surrounding bears just as we were. He and I came up with an agreement that the pack would help them kill off the other bears in return for control of the pool of water and that he along with his petting zoo join us. Kiddo's voice sounded less than excited about there being a bear, a bird and a big cat in his ranks. He never planned on giving them any sort of rank. Lynker had received one because he was a wolf and he fought bravely against the bears that were causing all of them issues. Kiddo had wanted them to join for an ego thing. He wanted Lynker to know that he had won, big time. And as an upside, he turned out to be quite the member. Who would have known?
(( bahaha we should probably start the mating thread because we are both here right now and then we can have the meeting thread with Lynker either placed before the mating thread or we can have it placed after))
