Angel’s tail was raised high, waving happily to and fro as she meandered through the gloomy woods that had become her home. The hunter was supposed to be hunting for the pack, but she had been distracted by the beauty of the forest around her and was now aimlessly wandering within its depths. She loved almost everything about Acerbus; the cool air ruffling through her fluffy tundra pelt, the thick fog swirling around her like an ethereal creature, and the way the outlines of tall trees appeared from the shadows as she passed. Many wolves wouldn’t dare to enter the spooky forest, but there was nothing but love for this place in the cheery she wolf’s mind.
This was a wonderful day, and she was sure that Vorilye wouldn't punish her for not doing her duty. Even though he sometimes seemed a little grumpy, she knew he truly had a kind soul and would never hurt a fly. He was merely misunderstood by all those murmuring loners; they didn’t understand that Descai wolves all cared for each other and were a big loving family.
Well, maybe the pack wasn’t quite like that. She didn't really know the other members well, and had in fact come across many strange scents in the forest lately; wolves who smelt like Descai but who she hadn’t met. Angel had tried to follow their trails, but had never managed to follow one right to its owner. It was as if they didn’t want her to find them, silly as that sounded.
The topic didn’t stay on her mind for long though; she had reached Lake Drarynough. The pure white tundra gazed out across the grey water, in awe of its majesty, as she left the cover of the dark trees and softly padded down to the edge of the shore. Barely a ripple stirred the surface, and a low mist hung over the water like a cloud. The shape of a small island could vaguely be seen far off in the distance, a shadow in the gloom. She realised she’d never been there before, and on an impulse she decided that she would explore there today.
So Angel stepped into the cool liquid, sighing at the gentle feel of it against her fur and skin as she slipped further into the misty lake. It didn’t take long before she was nearly fully submerged, only her head bobbing above the surface as she gracefully swam towards her destination. The four year old was a strong swimmer, and after a short while she could make out the outlines of the scraggly dead trees which dotted the island. Finally her front paw connected with solid land and she drew herself out of the water, pausing briefly to give her drenched pelt a thorough shake, which sent tiny droplets of water arcing through the air around her. “Beautiful…” she whispered as sapphire blue eyes scanned the secret little island she was standing all. It was all so lovely... the thick mist, the dead trees and scraggly bushes, and the wide circle of plain flat ground in the centre.
The only thing Descai's lands didn’t seem to hold for her was a friend. Despite her mind telling her otherwise, she felt a little lonely out here by herself, secluded from the rest of the world. Angel craved to be loved, and to be told that she was the most perfect lady in all the world. She dreamed of a handsome male who would sweep her off his feet with his romantic charm and make her feel like a beautiful goddess... A soft whine escaped her maw as images of the perfect world flickered through her mind. Her desires were stronger than ever today; the pretty white female was in heat.
