Mystery walked along the shore of a lake. Being newer to the pack, but not to the island of Anikira, she knew it as Ia'gha lake. She purposely attempted not to touch the water of the lake, knowing that it is very cold, especially in winter. The brisk breeze ruffled her fur and put enough of a chill in her. She gazed at the glassy surface of the lakewater. Despite the intense cold water, she saw a few fish darting about in it. She looked up at the sky, even though she couldn't see the sun. She and the lake were engulfed in shadow, more shadow than she wanted.
As she walked, Mystery began to get thirsty. She glanced at the water again. She knew the water was fresh and cold. She gave in to thirst and stopped, leaning down to drink. The water she lapped up was icy cold, but was refreshing. She drank and drank, she couldn't stop. All the walking had made her REALLY thirsty. Her longish gray-brown fur was beginning to droop into the water. When she lifted her head, the wet fur plastered to her skin. It sent a chill down her. Wonderful. More cold for her. She shook out her fur and kept walking.
Resuming her slow pace along the shore of the lake, Mystery looked up at her surroundings. To both of her sides were hills. She was at the bottom of a valley. Looking up, she felt like a bug at a hole with a puddle beside her. She had never felt so small. She padded along, now looking at the ground, she tried to keep thinking about the fact that she was a wolf, not some bug in a ditch. She scratched at the ground as she walked along, her fur bristling slightly.
