Wisps of memories danced within Teivel's thick skull, the majority of them were of his life in the Northeastern forests of Canada. A memory flickered across his unconscious brain of his sister hauling her very first kill towards his father who was sitting beside his mate, proud. Small remembrances similar to this played like short films inside of him, him being completely unaware of reality. He saw his father teaching him the importance of dodging, rather than trying to block the hit, and he invisioned his brother slipping away early in the morning to meet with his female friend. Pain seeped its way into the Bruce's nerves, and at first he thought he was regretting the time when he teased the runt about the femme he met with every day, only to form yet another strand of tension within the family. However, this was not the source of his growing pain that was now clearly originating from his broad chest.
Breathing, he was breathing. After almost an hour of complete darkness, he thought for sure that he was dead, and his body was separated from his spirit, sinking to the pitch black depths of the salty ocean. But, that could not be true if he was breathing. No, he was still living, he was alive. Each heaving breath became more and more defined, sending a lightning bolt of pain through his system. Through all of the chaos of his ocean encounter, he had not been aware of the amount of water he had both swallowed and inhaled. Now, it was coming back to bite him, or better yet burn him. The burning sensation in his chest was becoming almost unbearable now, but he had no control over his muscles.
After a good ten minutes of further darkness, his eyelids finally lifted, revealing his beautiful green orbs. His vision was clouded and blurred, and his eyes burned from the exposure to salt an hour or so before. A groan escaped his muzzle, and he used every ounce of strength to pull his weight into a sitting position, not wanting to stand too soon. He was dizzy and dazed, and he did not have any idea of what could be surrounding him. He could feel the grains of sand beneath his paws, and his audits heard the soothing sound of waves washing upon the shore, the sound seeming so sloes that the water may have been lapping at his tail. As his eyesight cleared up slightly, he could confirm the information his other senses had collected, he was in fact on a beach. Another stinging pain ripped through his muscular body. The last time he was on a beach, humans had enclosed him into a metal barred cage and kept him aboard the ship for months.
Before searching the area for lurking creatures, his head lurched forward and he vomited nearly a gallon of sour smelling water onto the sand. He felt much lighter now, and he stood up and tested taking a few steps away from the mess he had made in the sand. His joints felt weak and wobbly in the beginning, but he soon felt capable of walking at a fairly quick pace. He scanned the beach with his green eyes darting into every crevice in the area, and as he spun around to check the area behind him he nearly had a heart attack. A large, orange feline with black streaks painted across his damp pelt was standing not twenty feet away from Teivel. A defensive growl erupted from deep within the brute's throat, his hackles raising. "Get away from me, kitty!" The wolf was in no way afraid of the beast that was more than double his size, he just wanted his ugly face out of his sight before he vomited again and made a fool of himself.
The large cat chuckled a deep laugh and took a step closer to Teivel, his snake like tail flicking back and forth. "Settle down, wolf. I have no intentions of eating you - not yet." A smirk appeared among the tiger's mouth, he obviously believed this was a joke. Teivel glared at the stranger, his muscles remained tense and his jaw clenched tight, bearing his white fangs. But, he said nothing. The Bengal Tiger continued, not dazed one bit by the smaller animal's aggressive actions. "My name is Ekon. I was also held hostage aboard the human ship. I did not want to leave a dying creature alone on this foreign beach, not when it looks so delicious." His eyes gleamed with humor, and he sat in the sand, using his tongue to rid his fur of the grains of salt and sand.
Teivel was outraged. "Who is this feline to spit out rude jokes to a wolf such as me? I must put a stop to this nonsense." The brute was not a fan of this cat's confidence, and he sourly spat out his next words. "My name is Teivel, and I think you should shut your mouth and return to your revolting cleansing methods elsewhere. You have no reason to stick around, do you?" It wasn't meant to be a question, it was more of a gesture meant to shoo the animal away. He had no business watching the Tundra/Arctic wolf and he was simply aggravating the brute with his presence. Usually wolves backed down when they saw his muscular figure and nasty scars, but this creature remained as confident as ever. Another laugh escaped the tiger's muzzle, and he responded without the slightest hint of becoming weakened. "Hmm, a little harsh don't you think? To be honest with you, I was hoping we could explore this land together. No other animal washed ashore, and I'd much rather spend my time with an angry little guy than become solitary."
Teivel was somehow soothed by Ekon's words. They assured him that his siblings had not arrived on the beach, so he had no way of rescuing them from danger. He was unhappy about this, for sure, but it also meant he would be relieved of the stress of watching over them for now. Later on, he would probably regret the relief, and get crazy stressed for this reason only. Plus, this creature wanted to travel alongside Teivel, which perked the wolf's curiosity a bit. No, he was not very fond of Ekon, but he could certainly serve as a form of protection. Not that he needed any, but he could easily take advantage of the intimidating cat in many ways. "I suppose you could come along, kitty." His voice was calmer now, but a rough undertone lined the words. The tiger nodded in agreement, though Teivel could tell he did not like his new nickname. An evil looking smirk appeared upon the brute's muzzle and he decided he would definitely use the kitty nickname often.
The large wolf took the sudden silence to finally have a good look around the beach. The sand was a mixture of dirty brown sand and the beautiful white that felt softer to his paws. The water that continued to crash onto the beach every few moments was a peaceful turquoise color and a calming ocean breeze was blowing around Teivel and Ekon. "It's disgusting how utterly perfect things seem, no matter how awful the situation. Cossette would love it." An internal smile peaked through the darkness, reminding him of his sister running carelessly along the beach. That was, until, she ran into the humans. The slight happiness had vanished and Teivel returned to his emotionless state.
