Days turned into weeks and soon weeks would become months. Thus far the Alphess was quite satisfied about how Zakur was coming along. She could not have asked for more, the others had been quite supportive of her decision to bring them back together. Now she was on another border patrol, trekking her way across the terrain in order to prevent any sort of intruder. The others appeared to be forming an even stronger bond than before, the thought made the Mexican female smile. She still kept quite a distance between herself and the others, emotionally at least. It simply was out of her reach, she had never formed a true friendship nor learned to trust another completely. It was a trial that she was focusing on constantly; of course she trusted her pack more than anyone else. There still remained a road block within her though. The words of her mother ringing throughout her mind, they reminded her not to care too much on the exterior.
Paws braced themselves as she prepared to jump upward slightly. Her land upon one of the boulders was quite graceful, nearly calculated. Brown optics swam across the view of The Kinath, she enjoyed this particular location. It gave her a beautiful view; yet, still made it possible for the others to locate her with ease. The sun's rays were twinkling behind light cloud cover, waving their last goodbyes. Sunsets had always been one of the Alphess' favorite things ever since she was a pup. There was something warm and comforting about them. A quiet sigh escaped her muzzle, 'what a life I lead now.' A dry giggle escaped her maw, things had changed significantly from what she was used to. It had only been months ago that she was a loner, searching for her war god. Now here she stood, eyes gazing across her terrain and her father the shaman within her pack. Had someone told her that this was her future - she would have laughed in their face. But now, it was reality.
A light wag set pace within her tail, this action one that she hardly had control over. Her happiness was overwhelming inside; however, she knew to hold face. If none viewed her as weak, than they would have less leverage to use against her. The other packs nearest her had male Alphas, she knew that much - but what about the others? If she was the only sole female Alpha, then she needed to work harder in order to gain respect from the others. A part of her was nervous, insecure about leading these canines; yet, on the flip side she was confident and proud. It was a confusing sensation for the female, but it would pass. It had to, otherwise she would be stuck in a permanent state of anxiety and confusion. Slowly she shook her crania, releasing these stressors from her brain for awhile. 'Stop worrying for nothing, it's not going to bring about any good.'
She wondered how the others were doing, if they were handling the change well. Certainly they seemed to on the outside; however, she knew just how fake exterior reactions could be. Mind wandered to thoughts of Hadrian, her dearest father was keeping himself quite busy lately. Everyone was occupying themselves with as much as possible, was it simply a coping mechanism? The female knew not their reasoning simply the way it appeared to her. This could all be some clever disguise for all of them to move forward with their lives, Kiddo's disappearance had taken all of them by surprise. Unless he had told one of them something that she was ignorant of. The thought nearly ripped a growl from her lips, but for some reason it never hit the air. It seemed to stick inside of her chest like a knot. Nashira feared showing any side of her to the others, wouldn't it make them lose faith in her? She believed so.
Extending her front legs forward, the female leaned her weight backwards into a lengthy stretch. A few places in her back crackled and popped, much to her relief. The Alphess knew she had even much more tense than usual lately. These circumstances had arrived rather unexpectedly. It was strange to believe that she was now in charge of her father when it came to ranking; although the Mexican brute would always be able to persuade his daughter into following his guidance. The femme was much like a child I'm that mannerism, or at least she felt like one. It was strange not having him around when she was young; yet, now he was a stable member of her pack. Zakur was her pack, she was responsible for the others. Within her brain the female was grinning, but her physical existence remained empty of emotions. They were forever guarded behind walls, after all she needed some protection.
