With a heaving sigh the pup stomped away from his siblings. Just because Valeria was huge did not give her permission to push him around! And to make things better, Zofia did not say a word about their older sister's pushy ways. Grey eyes darted across the land, hardly retaining the direction of where he was going. The bastard pup did not care right now, the only thing that mattered was getting away from his bully of a sibling. Already he had grown weary of having mother swoop in to rescue him, so he had begun to distance himself from the others. By now Atlas had begun to put the pieces of his life together enough to know that there was something different about him; he just could not figure out exactly what. Sarin likely would shelter get pup from such information for now, waiting until he was older and could better understand the situation. The pup was nearly half a year old already, it was amazing how time flew! He remembered a few months ago when mother would have lost it if any of them disappeared; now, she would let them roam some. Even so, Atlas knew that her emerald stare always lay upon them - simply waiting for another to put them in danger.
As the hot springs formed before the pup's curiosity filled grey eyes, his tail began drumming eagerly behind him. It swayed the pup's entire rump nearly making him stumble over himself on several occasions. The sun slowly dropped itself another few notches in the sky, but the pup felt no fear or worry. After all, he was still within Descai's lands! Surely he would be safe so long as he stayed within the pack's territory. 'I will show them that I can last by myself! I don't need Valeria to push me around, I can survive on my own.' He huffed in aggravation and made a halfhearted pounce towards a moth that flew to close to him. Truthfully, for a six month old pup, Atlas was quite large. Already he was growing a distinctly muscular body from bouncing around with his sisters all day, but that did not discourage the bully. Mommy seemed to be proud of him though, so that had to mean something! Despite how strict mother could be, her having faith in him made him believe that he was not worthless. Lowering himself to the ground, the pup eyed a wiggling branch of a nearby shrub. His focus drew his ears down close to his skull; with a tiny wiggle of his rump, he launched himself forward and upon the branch.
Teeth locked down hard against the branch as he happily ripped it apart. His head violently swung itself side to side in order to better detonate his enemy. Atlas knew not why he was attacking nothingness, other than to prove that he was strong and able bodied. Being the only male meant that he had to work extra hard! Even if his mommy was strict and his sisters could be bullies, it was his duty to protect them. Although, in his subconscious he knew that Valeria would likely never need saving from him. Her large size already spoke for itself. 'What of she hurts mommy one day?' Eyelids closed tightly over his vibrant gray eyes for a moment, sheilding himself from such a cruel though. Valeria would never intentionally hurt any of them, right? There were times when Atlas felt that he could not genuinely answer such a question. He liked to believe that his sister was not a monster, but most times she downright acted like it. Jaws finally released the shredded twig and Atlas took a few steps back to admire his handiwork. The bark shreddings and lifeless twigs laying about proved to him just how powerful he was! No one could conquer him! 'Except Valeria,' within his skull he mocked his sister, but quickly stopped for fear that she would somehow know he was doing it. The last thing Atlas wanted was to catch more hell from his sister.
The beige pup felt content with himself for leaving the two females behind, they didn't want to spend time with him anyway. So what reason did he have to stay and hangout with them? He was a male and that meant he needed to explore and learn about the world in order to better protect his family. The thought of losing either of his sisters or his mother absolutely terrified the whelp. Despite the hell they were capable of putting him through, he needed them and loved them dearly. However, he was not going to let his pride become injured just to increase their ego. It was then that a sudden movement distracted him from his thoughts, yanking his attention back into the real world. Lips rolled up into what was supposed to be a snarling face, but ended up looking more adorable than anything else. A hare had foolishly darted past him! Now was a chance to show his skills! Pressing his belly low to the ground, he watched the terrain for a few moments. He was hardly capable of being patient enough to wait until he saw more movement, but somehow he made it. The pup bounded forward in a full on sprint, convinced that he would catch this meal.
