The beach sand was soft and felt nice under her paws. For a long time she had stayed away from sand. Though now she greeted it like a friend. Sand had been one of the first things she'd ever experienced and it hadn't been traumatic. It was nice to experience it again, to reflect on the sensation of sand. The tiny grains tickling the skin between her toes. Her purple eyes scanned the land. It was afternoon, and a warm sun embraced the beach. Hugging her light brown figure, and reflecting off the waves like light off satin.
She stepped lightly and swiftly, painting the beach with delicate imprints of her drumming paw-pads. She could smell various different wolves, some of the scents faint some of them rather new. After all this was loners land. She didn't exactly like the life of being a loner.
She was destined to be greater then what she was. She could feel it, she had more potential. She would make her own pack. The notion had stirred in her thoughts almost a month ago. However in order to have a pack she'd need a family. A pack was family. Wolves that were a unit. Like herself—a pack was more wolves bonded together as one.
Slowly but surely Eidlynn had started to lose the wolves she had accumulated inside her. Her masks. Today she would take off all of them. She'd be Eidlynn. Even if no one came to know Eidlynn today that was the mask she'd wear. That was the face, the name she'd carry around with her. She didn't want to be Susan, Samantha, or Cherylin. She wanted to be Eidlynn. A wolf that was almost like her shadow. As if Eidlynn was the real her, the wolf she'd been trying to hide for a whole year.
