Dreams floated blissfully within the puppy's young mind, each one was quickly forgotten as the next one began to play out. One of these spectacular dreams was one about Aurelia's father, whom she knew little about. Actually, the underdeveloped femme knew nothing about her daddy except that he must have existed at some point. All wolves had a mommy and daddy, that was a fact. In the slightly hazy dream that was unfolding within her brain, the female had just been swimming in a circular pool of crystal clear water when, suddenly, some unknown force began tugging her fragile body beneath the water's glistening surface. She thrashed her muscles violently in any attempt to keep herself from drowning, but water filled her minuscule lungs and her throat burned from the major intake of liquid. Just as the puppy was ready to give up the imaginary fight for her life, she felt strong, gentle jaws grasping the scruff of her neck and lifted her dripping self out of the pool. The brute that carefully placed her back on land was a large, muscular Apennine who was completely unfamiliar to the pup. He smiled softly to her and greeted her in a hushed voice. "Hello, my beautiful daughter. Are you alright?"
Startled and confused, Aurelia gasped herself awake, finding herself lying in the same place she had fallen asleep: the litter's den that had been dug out of beneath a giant tree in Lleingas Woods by Angel. Her breathing slowed slightly as the tiny femme's mind raced to put together the puzzle pieces of what had just occurred. 'It was only a dream, it was only a dream, it--' Her attempt to regain her composure succeeded when the pup's train of thought shifted to a more important state compared to the nightmare of nearly drowning. No, what Aurelia was desperate to know was who her father is, where he is now, and whether or not the perfect daddy she saw in her dream was real. 'Why didn't mommy ever tell us about daddy?' It was a mystery to the young canine, and it caused her to feel sad that she and her brothers were the only puppies in Descai that had never met their father. From what she had seen, Vorilye was a very good daddy, so it wasn't fair that there was no father figure in her life.
The puppy yawned, stretched her stiff, fragile limbs, and marched determinedly to the mouth of the empty makeshift den where the midday sunshine caused her to squint her gorgeous blue eyes to be able to see. 'I must have overslept,' she thought to herself as her eyes finally adjusted to her surroundings. The female had stayed up way past her bedtime chasing lightning bugs through the forest, no wonder she had been exhausted. However, the little girl was quite proud of herself to have earned enough trust from her mommy to be left alone in the den. Or maybe Angel had simply grown tired of waiting for her to awake. With none of her littermates, nor her mother in sight, Aurelia made the decision to go ahead and seek out Angel. She was probably hunting somewhere close by, though the pup didn't care how near or far she was; today was going to be the day that she learned about her daddy. Angel had never told her or her brothers anything about him, and therefore the miniature femme wanted to know the truth. Throwing her small head back into the most dignified howl she could possibly muster, she called out for her beloved mother and stuck her snout to the ground so she could begin her search for her.
