As night fell over Anikira, Yahvi came out of her resting place where her and children slept during the day. Yahvi was mostly a nocturnal wolf, doing most of her "work" at night and sleeping during the day. She was careful not to stay in the same place for more than a few days for if she did, anyone who was looking for her could probably find her. She had been scouting the pack called Zakur for the last day or so. She hadn't made any decisions about the wolves yet but it seemed like the wolves there still were of good quality although the black one with the other creatures was a bit strange. She didn't remember if she had gone there in the past and taken care of a few of their members before. She supposed she could have but with the number of wolves that she had found lately that were unfit to live, it was difficult to keep track of where she had been and where she had not. She knew that she and her children had picked off the pack called Vashti and the pack called Ferus one by one. There may have been one or two left over there but for the most part they were taken care of.
She looked around her surroundings before dipping her head and taking a drink of the cool liquid. She was always on alert, always listening for who could be watching her. She knew how dangerous being alone was. Her son, Atoyo, was probably close by but whether he would get a drink as well was unknown. Atoyo reminded her of the wolf who had raped her two years ago. She was quite smitten with her son on most days. He had proven himself a worthy fighter and had grown to be healthy and strong, thanks to her. Had the male given her a larger litter, she might have more strong sons like Atoyo. Her son knew, or should know, the consequences of producing a small litter. She considered a litter of 3 and under to be small, a litter of 4 or 5 to be a medium sized litter and a litter of 6 or more to be "large" or "healthy sized." Of course to her, litter size and gender was given by males and health was given by females. Her children knew they were not allowed to breed freely. She would chose their mates for them because she knew best. She could give them either a male who would produce a large litter or a female to give them healthy pups. It was all for the good of her children. Now, should her son not produce a large litter like his father she would have no choice but to prevent him from breeding again whether that be through castration or death.
She was planning on creating a larger group. She wasn't sure what she was going to call it yet or how she was going to control a larger group but it would be for the best in the long run. The family of four was doing a decent job and the kids were turning out well but they would need more. Not only to take on the large amount of wolves still needing to die. She had taken a couple of wolves from Descai and left their bodies in the territory for someone to find. Descai was a large pack. She had heard stories of the great and feared alpha there. Well, the great and feared alpha should be watching his back. She left the bodies to send a message. He would never catch her. She was smarter than him. She planned on taking out the alpha and the rest of his children eventually but she figured she would let them shake in their boots for a while. She saw no real reason to take out the red wolf other than to send a strong message. There hadn't been anything wrong with her so it was quite the shame. She did however produce a scrawny daughter from the looks of it so she guessed that was enough.
She lifted her head from the pool and sat by the beautiful water, listening to the bugs and watching the moon. It was such a peaceful night. That night, Yahvi decided she would allow anikira to go through the night without a death at her paw so she could enjoy a night off.
