It was a beautiful morning in Anikira, but the light-grey and white wolf that trekked through the mountains now didn't notice. He didn't notice the beautiful sunshine, though it had been cloudy an hour before. He didn't hear or see the birds that floated above him, high in the air. He didn't notice the slight wind that ruffled his fur and soothed his left side that had always had a slight ache to it since the attack. The wolf simply rumbled on, every now and then stopping to lift his head to catch a scent or sound of an enemy. He had wandered all the way from the loner territory of I'queyer this morning, carefully skirting pack boundaries. His mood today was split. He had lived in Anikira for three months now, but was quite dissatisfied at the same time with being completely filled with awed wonder. This island was like a dream to him. It was the most beautiful place that he had ever seen; there was so much green, so much life. Even the volcano didn't take away from its absolute beauty: in fact, it added to it. It may have been the long months that Kismet had spent locked up in the bottom of a boat that made this land so beautiful, but Kismet had a good memory, and he couldn't think of anything more beautiful than this island. Almost anything. And with that thought, Eclipse drowned out all of Kismet's joy. The thought of her made a great sadness take hold of him like a tidal wave. The entire three months that he had spent here, Kismet had been alone. As a result, he had wandered, day in and day out every day. He had not hunted as much as he ought to have, and combined with his long voyage, this made his usual bulky figure rather skinny for the time. This only made Kismet look young and weak, as if he hadn't fully grown into skin yet. That was all for the better, though, because it made him look non-threatening.
Kismet had heard a lot in his three months. Though he hadn't met another soul, he had heard many pack howls and yips. He had explored every bit of Anikira, and it's island, but had kept away from Tas'alea, for an unknown reason. In this way, he had guessed which packs were friendliest, and which were cruel. He had guessed the packs that were neither, and which were secluded. With this information in mind, Kismet had made his way to the boundary line of Airila, hoping to at least meat the Alpha of this pack. From the noise he had heard, he assumed that this was more of a family pack and less of a dog-eat-dog one. Kismet snorted as he walked along in the mountains; he had always had a strong dislike for and a low esteem of packs, and pack-life. He didn't understand why you would submit your will and life to another wolf, even if he could understand why you would want to. He had imagined only the weak or young being succumbed to such a life for protection alone, but couldn't guess why strong wolves who could take care of themselves would do such a thing. It was ridiculous. And then Kismet remembered why he had come. He had come out of loneliness. He just wanted to meet another soul, to talk to someone. He hadn't spoken in almost two years, and longed for conversation, for company. He hadn't decided on joining the pack, unless the Alpha was impressed by him and offered it; he simply wanted company. Soon, Kismet came across the strongly marked border. He contemplated for a few minutes whether or not he should cross it. In the end, though, he decided that it wasn't that bad of an idea, since he would be telling everyone of his arrival. After another minute, Kismet crossed into the packlands, but remained close to the border--and escape.
And without further ado, Kismet leaned back his head, opened his jaws and released a long howl. To his own ears it sounded sad and lonely, though he hadn't meant for it to.

OOC: I know that this pack isn't accepting members right now, but Kismet really just needs to be introduced to the world here at Anikira. (: Besides, he's such a silly dumby, that I thought it would be fun to have him find out that they don't need new members IC? Anyone from the pack can join in (the more the merrier!), but I'd really love for Kismet to meet some of the pack members and make friends. Thanks!
