The night was absolutely black. Pitch black. The dim moonlight that had shown earlier had slowly faded. A white form moved throughout Zozyr's Glory, jumping from ledge to ledge, in a seeming erratic way. However, the wolf's mind was alive and on fire. She leapt from ledge to ledge, testing her speed and skill. The moon jumped into view, and out again. Out of her entire family, Zaida was the largest in weight, and the shortest in height. For this reason, no one, including herself or her mother, knew how Zaida retained the most attractive, proportionate form in her entire family. Just one look at her snowy pelt, silky black tail, and her insanely beautiful green eyes was usually enough for any male to melt. Zaida was also the most sane member of her family, and therefore, the insanity never touched her eyes. She retained her mind, and used this factor to gauge others with surprising accuracy and ability. She slept light and easily, but was always the last to sleep and first to rise. Her beauty, combined with her intelligence and reason, made her the most deadly enemy. She was quite powerful, and large muscles grew underneath her coat. But the best part about all of this, was that because of her feminine appearance, and her graceful, dancing gate, no one ever guessed how strong, powerful, and absolutely deadly she was. Only her siblings and her mother knew how fiercely she performed her duties. She was a swift, quiet assassin, but she also knew how to make the process slow and absolutely excruciating without a sound escaping from the victim or herself--a very difficult process indeed. Normally, she saved this technique for the weakest of wolves, ones who would pretty much be too weak to scream anyway. Which made it no work at all to keep them from yapping.
Zaida did have her mark, her tattoo, which made it clear who had killed the victim--clear to her family. She hardly ever used it, so as to not get caught, but every once in a while, when it had been long enough, she would revel in the opportunity. At the end, right before the wolf died, she would rip at it's stomach, and pull out it's lungs and intestines. This she did so swiftly that the wolf would die before a single sound could escape, though the wolf's maw was usually parted, and its eyes wide open. Sometimes, she watched as the wolf was found, later laughing at their expressions. Instantly, the wolf or wolves would shudder at the sight of the lungs and intestines dragged out onto the earth, and the huge pool of the victim's blood. Then, the would look to the wolf's face to identify the victim, and their maws would drop open, their eyes wide with absolute horror at the expression on the dead face. Then, quite suddenly, every wolf would throw back its head and let out an agonized howl that would rip another wolf's heart to pieces at the sound. However, Zaida had been raised around such noise, and had lost all emotion at the young age of eight months. She had grown up cold-hearted, heartless, and ruthless. Somehow, this hadn't affected her sanity, and she had startlingly retained it. However, usually Zaida's tattoo usually manifested itself on the wildlife prey that she almost never consumed. Every once in a while, when observation of a wolf took longer than normal, or a wolf somehow alluded Zaida and her family, the need would arrive to take down other prey. Almost every single time that Zaida did this, she would incapacitate the prey so that it couldn't run, and then she would take her sweet time killing it. Sometimes she would take a whole hour, depending on the size of her prey. She would usually start by breaking all of its legs, and slowly move along, breaking or puncturing everything that she could without killing it. Then, when its screams were so loud and constant that she anticipated discovery, she would rip out its throat.
If she were ever found after she had made the kill, Zaida would use her beauty, and skill to get out of the situation. She would always detect the wolf before he came close enough to see anything, and she would instantly flatten her ears, and look at her prey with only slightly mournful eyes. Then, just as the traitor would jump into the clearing, she would jump back in feigned surprise, supposedly about to take a bite. She would instantly feign anger, and pretend to defend her kill. She would act just as a wolf might if they had come upon a predator stalking its prey who was also the wolf's prey, scared the other predator off, but not before it incapacitated and attacked it, and killed the creature to put it out of its misery. It always worked. Any suspicion in the other wolf's mind about the nature of the screams would instantly be reassured by the view he saw as he approached, and as he jumped into Zaida's supposed hearing range. If he was a male, he was usually overtaken by her ridiculous beauty, and supposed that someone so beautiful, who acted so normal, could never...and he wouldn't even be able to come up with what his suspicions had been in the first place, whatever they were. Females were a bit harder, but if they were good-hearted, it would be easy for Zaida to pull the wool over their eyes.
Zaida was strong. She was beautiful. She was graceful.
Zaida was deadly.
And here, in the Glory, she jumped from ledge to ledge with incredible speed and accuracy. She started with just bounding from the smallest ledges to the smallest ledges, some so small that she could barely fit all four paws on them, and wheeling around to jump to the next ledge as soon as her paws touched the stone. As a result, it looked as if she flew. It appeared as if her paws never really touched any ledge, but that she turned in mid-air to fly to another one. Only the trained eye of her family could see that she was practicing balance at a completely mad speed. She went so fast, jumping and wheeling, jumping and wheeling, that one might become dizzy just watching her. However, Zaida had done similar activities such as these many times before, some at such a young age that now, no trace of dizziness tainted her perfect balance. Her mind was so calm, so collected, so focused, as usual, that she never made a mistake. Not a single paw ever moved out of place. Most wolves might be caught up in thought at such a time of aloneness, and would therefore practice much slower, and make several mistakes. Zaida was almost completely incapable of such an act. Her thoughts were always background noise, and were most often silent. She had such complete control of her mind that it, too, had never stepped out of line, not even once. Not yet. The only paranoia that Zaida had was a very tiny fear that one day, she would be surprised totally, like her mother when she had been raped, that she wouldn't see it coming at all, and that her mind would therefore become the slow, constraining mind of normal wolves for long enough that she would be taken advantage of. Because of this small fear, Zaida constantly pushed herself harder and harder, oftentimes exhausting herself by pushing herself to her very limit.
Now, as Zaida began to hop to smaller and smaller ledges, she decided to test herself to the extreme tonight, as if the extreme she was already practicing wasn't hard enough. Her fight with Atoyo earlier in the night had spurred her mind into a sudden frenzy of practice, and as soon as he had disappeared, she had begun this insane practice. She had almost slipped several times in the fight, and it had made her calm, collected mind narrow on practice. She had practiced here before, but had never pushed herself to this extreme. Her breath was finally beginning to come short, as this new form of practice to push herself harder came into her mind. Wheeling on the ledge she had just landed on, so tiny that all four of her paws were on their toes, she pushed off the ledge powerfully with her back paws, her forepaws already leaping into the air, and launched herself straight for the weakest ledge that she could immediately see. She knew that she only had seconds to leave the ledge before it would crumble beneath her and her massive weight. Just as she landed, she turned and went for the next weak ledge. She tried to spy ledges that constantly became weaker and weaker from the one she had just come off of, but every once in a while, she didn't have the time. Even the quickness of her eyes and mind weren't always fast enough. Most wolves would never try an exercise such as this, even among her family, because it would take much to long to spy another ledge, and then to decide to jump to it. But with Zaida, as soon as she saw the next ledge, she was in the air. In this way, the ledges crumbled underneath her half a second too late, and once or twice they would actually crumble after she had made it half-way to the next ledge.
Zaida practiced like this for hours, switching between weak ledges and minuscule ones until she could feel the cool night air burning her lungs. Finally, after pushing herself to her very limit, she dived into a random cave to rest. She landed with grace, but quickly took a couple dancing gates to the side of the cave, and laid down to rest. Her legs felt weak with exhaustion, and it took her several long minutes to regain her silent breathing. She panted heavily, doing her best to keep as quiet as she could. After her heart rate had slowed considerably, she let out a little sigh. She could feel the very edges of sleep poking its way toward her. She hadn't slept in more than twenty-four hours. Since she had been up all day long with her family, creating the pack of Osani, she hadn't been able to get any sleep, and of course, since her family was nocturnal, she hadn't slept since the day before. But Zaida refused to give in. She was determined to hold out until dawn. She couldn't afford letting her sleep schedule mixed up, just because they had created the pack. Now that there were more wolves that would be living with herself and her family, Zaida needed to be more alert and strong than ever. This was one reason why she had decided to train by herself tonight. This was the reason, along with her battle with Atoyo, that she had pushed herself with ridiculous tasks, for long hours, until she just couldn't anymore. If she held out till dawn, she would sleep longer than normal for herself, to catch up, but she would keep her sleeping schedule intact.
Suddenly, Zaida heard the far away noise of thudding paws. She got up swiftly, and melted into the shadows. Her coat was much too bright to stay in the dim light. Only in the blackest of shadows could she be totally concealed. She sniffed the air silently. A female. Good... Zaida thought, with a wicked smile. She smelled the air again, tasting the scent. The female wasn't weak, but she wasn't strong. Zaida decided to leave her alive, but the thought of attacking the female with the sure ability to terrify and scar her never entered her mind. At least, not until she saw the green eyes in the distance. Zaida stared into the eyes, instantly recognizing the intensity and passion that resided in them. Zaida didn't know this wolf; she'd never smelled or seen her before, which meant that she must be a new arrival, but she knew the look in her eyes. She had seen it before. No, Zaida decided, I must make myself the angel to this one. And with that, with complete silence and invisibility, Zaida laid down on the ground where she was, her body still completely covered in darkness, and relaxed into a sleeping position. She closed her eyes and pretended to sleep. Only as the female got close, would she see the supposed sleeping form. Zaida relied on her ears and nose alone to warn her when the wolfess was close enough to see her. Then she would feign to be startled awake, unless the wolfess decided to awake her.

OOC: Sorry that it's so long ;-; I just really got into her and my muse was just flowing like a rushing river! haha. Anyway, I was thinking that Zira could be exploring the cave when she hears Zaida's panting in the distance, and follows the sound? Maybe, as the sound disappears completely, she's intrigued and goes to find out what's wrong. Then, as she's walking, she's maybe slightly surprised when out of no where, as she's scanning the cave, she sees Zaida laying there, asleep (supposedly) and maybe thinks she's sick or something? So maybe she tries to wake her, thinking she's in shock or something. I don't know x3 whatever. Have fun![/blockquote]
