"Speech." | "Thought."
Sometimes life makes us go through several tests. She's like a confused teacher who gives the exams first and teaches the lessons later. However, she is not confused at all. Life is the greatest teacher--she knows what will make us stronger; even if we don't understand it, or even if we just don't want to face it. She knows what she's doing. But in life's pupils, there are a few that don't get the lessons and fail the exams. They close in their hearts and build these giant stone walls around others due to fear. Some channel out those feelings through anger, frustration... confusion. Not all of life's pupils exceed in her class, but she always finds a way to help them.
One of those students is Inaya.
When she killed her brother, she thought that her suffering would end. She questioned everything around her tragic past, yet she never really understood what was going on. Questions such as the reason behind her suffering and the reason behind her brother's actions circled her mind daily. She never forgave him and his cruel actions, and that lack of forgiveness was consuming her. Every time she tried to forgive him, she hated him more; she showed this anger by angrily biting off small chunks of skin off her front legs, biting her tongue until blood came out, and sometimes bursting out into tears. Thoughts of ending it all crossed her mind, yet something inside the dark ocean of her thoughts made her keep walking: something called hope. Hope that someone would lift her up. Hope that someone would rescue her from herself. Hope that she could forgive, or maybe have a normal life again. That hope gave her faith of the unseen. She was in a deep hole and the only thing that made her keep on hanging was a small branch that held her. That branch was her faith.
Four scarred, weak legs made a stop in front of a peace-bringing view--the beautiful Nytyte River. The rapid and dangerous waters were quite a sight for Inaya, even though she had no idea how to cross to the other side. She decided to lay down next to the river and observe the rapid waters as they passed by her. She, at a safe distance, observed the many colorful rocks that adorned the bottom of the river. As expected of Inaya, she occasionally perked up her head and scanned the area in search for intruders. She was always overcautious. She stood up for a moment and drank a little bit of water, refreshing herself with its cold temperature. She kept observing around, fearing company yet desiring it with all her soul... or at least, what remained of it.
She rested her body once again in her previous laid down position and heard the sound of the rushing waters, calming down her muscles. She began to feel sleepy after a couple of minutes, and before she knew it, she drifted away in peaceful slumber.
