The moon had a way of making water look so much more precious to one’s eyes, the clear waters of the river reflected much of moonlight off its surface, with patterns constantly shifting as the water flowed rapidly down towards the coast. Reeds dominated the river’s edge, leaving small pockets of clear ground in between, allowing a larger creature to drink in the moonlight. Away from the river, a slope had built up, leading towards two isolated trees, standing alone between the might of the river, and the vastness of the meadow beyond. To the east, on the other side of the river, hills rolled across the terrain, the larger ones keeping the smaller ones out of sight of the river.
A young grey wolf jogged along at a steady pace upstream, on the west bank of the river, though from a distance, one might have perceived the figure to be a different kind of wolf. The wolf had a curious mix of brown and grey for a coat, the white of his chest moved up to his lower jaw as his brown eyes scanned the location, alert for anything, a scab had formed on the front left leg underneath his coat, just visible, though the injury did nothing to slow the wolf’s progress. The wolf paused, and gazed at the river for a moment, before glancing over his shoulder up the bank, towards the two trees. The wolf narrowed his eyes briefly, considering his course of action. Eventually he sighed, and approached the river’s edge, moving in between two clumps of reeds for concealment. He glanced one last time over his shoulder, before lowering his head towards the water.
The wolf known as Audas gratefully took his first drink in two days.
Audas paused briefly, taking the moment to sigh with relief as the cold water caused the stinging sensation in his throat to die down, which had been bothering him ever since he was washed ashore in this place. He lowered his snout back to the water and drank further. “At last, something clean for once” Audas thought as he finished drinking and sat down between the two reed beds. He looked up at the moon, the light shining off his eyes as he did so. “Question is, what does fate have in store next?” Audas pondered. Other than the general area around him, Audas had no idea where he was, he could still be in North America or some completely new world, if he was brought ashore by day, he would have roughly determined which way was north with the sun. Audas cursed under his breath, “Not that would help much…”. He glanced over his shoulder again before looking back to the moon overhead.
He sighed again. “Pull yourself together Audas, the moon isn’t going to give you the answers you want”. He looked away from his lunar companion and looked back at the surface of the water. First of all, Audas needed to hunt; he could try to catch fish as he had seen the brown bears in North America do, or he could prowl the meadow in search of a rabbit or other creatures that lurked there.
Audas glanced over his shoulder again, holding his gaze for longer this time, before looking back towards the moon, even though he knew he wasn’t going to get an answer.

OOC: Open to anyone, but a loner would be preferable, the wolf who comes can watch Audas or confront him directly, or whatever else picks your fancy, well, don't kill him when his story has barely begun! Hope this is alright for a first post. I've been editing the post clean of mistakes, should be fine now, send a PM if I missed something out.
