“Well… Ain’t this a pretty spot?”
The white beach that Kaine had just landed open was an idyllic site, the sand soft and warm on his feet as he exited the water, he nearly lost his balance, but quickly righted himself as he walked ashore. The sun shone down on the dark grey wolf as he shook off the water that remained on his coat, it wasn’t a perfect job, but it will do.
He knew he shouldn’t stay for long, but this beach seemed like a welcome change from the cramped, miserable interior of the ship he was on board just a mere day ago. On the plus side, the humans seemed eager to keep their captives fed and quenched, Kaine had even gained a few pounds whilst he was on board. Of course the lack of sanitation, the spread of illness and the heat… oh yes… the heat had driving some of his fellow captives insane, he had plotted, and took advantage.
The poor humans that fed Kaine were dead now, he had to kill them in order to make his escape by jumping off that boat. And what do you know! He had landed on a pretty beach with plenty of energy, a salty coat and a slight thirst, no pressure.
Kaine turned and began to make his way along the beach, on his left, plains opened up, to his right, open ocean greeted him, and the beach ahead seemed endless. He walked with at a casual pace, as he carefully planned his next move. He would after a short while on the beach, move on to the plains and see what he could find.
Kaine smirked to himself, maybe he would find another wolf or two, and he could try and form another following, with himself at the head of it. If that wolf or two were part of another pack, he could join, and work his way to the top, perhaps he might take over, or pull a few wolves away to form his own. If either didn’t work, he could just leave and be done with it. Simplicity really.
Kaine’s pleasure grinded to a halt as he noticed the sand gradually started to shift from the white sand he had first noticed to dirty-looking sand he was more familiar with. Moaning, Kaine turned around and walked back the way he had came. He was soon at the same spot he had just landed at.
That was he smelt it, the whiff of another wolf, very close.
“Showtime!”
Kaine’s head snapped around in the general direction of where the source of the scent was. Narrowing his eyes slightly as he did so and letting a slight snarl out. But then he smiled and let out a hearty laugh, “Very sneaky! If you were planning to attack me, you would have been in for a challenge, unless you were admiring my good looks?”. Kaine stopped laughing and smiled, waiting for whatever wolf was there to make the next move.
