White paws trekked up the side of the Kinath as the white Arctic ascended the borders of her pack’s territory. This was the first time in quite a while that the she wolf had left the safety and comfort of the Orient. The last time she had left the Oriens was when Kiddo had claimed a new territory for the pack that went by Amar back then. The joys of the expansion of Amar didn’t last long for not too long after the expansion, Kiddo had disappeared. It was as if he never existed for he left without warning which left the pack disbanded. Belle had stayed in the Oriens hoping that Kiddo would eventually come back, but it didn’t take long for the Arctic to lose faith completely. Thankfully that feeling of emptiness didn’t last long for she ran into a familiar face that belonged to an Eastern Timber brute that was named Chaika. They had met only once before but seeing him made the feeling of emptiness disappeared. And not too long after that encounter, another former pack member named Nashira reformed the pack under the name of Zakur.
A great amount of time had passed since then and a lot of things had happened since then. Belle had found love which she never thought she would find after losing Inari to that fire. Her new love and new reason to live was none other than Chaika. It was fate that had brought them together as if they were meant for each other, and in reality they really were meant for each other. Their personalities complimented each other with how they both had undying kindness and how Chaika was more reserved and Belle was more out spoken, in a polite manner however. Their thoughts were on the same wavelength and whatever emotion one of them felt, the other felt the exact same way. At times they could somehow communicate without even speaking. Belle had never felt so smitten before in her life, and she had never been happier, especially since her and Chaika had made their love official just a couple months or so ago. They had mated in the lovely area of the Oriens known as Nyspoli’s Pool which just so happened to be the place that the two had met. Since the mating took place out of season Belle and Chaika didn’t expect her to conceive. But to Belle’s surprise, she had become pregnant and was now due in a month or so.
When she had first realized that she was pregnant, she was quite fearful of what condition the pups would be in since she had unexpectedly gone into heat several months before she was supposed to. In addition to that, this had never happened to her before which added to her fear that the pups could have major defects or be still born. This fear caused her to not notify her mate of her pregnancy for she didn’t want to get his hopes up for nothing. She was quite surprised about how well she was able to hide it. Then again it helped that the colder weather was causing her to become a fur ball. As far as she knew, she was pulling of concealing her pregnancy quite well, but with each passing day, she realized that she would have to eventually tell Chaika. She felt bad for hiding this news from him for so long because the two had always been honest with each other. Which was one of the reasons why she was planning to tell him later today once she had finished hunting which was what she was on her way to do.She would usually hunt in her home lands but her appetite had been increasing and she didn’t want to chance that Chaika would find out. So one day she found some big plains that were just on the other side of the Kinath. The trip wasn’t too terribly long but it was far enough from the Oriens so that she wouldn’t run into her mate.
As she began the climb down the mountain into the plains, she could feel the puppies kicking making a smile appear on her maw. “You all will get some food here soon,” she whispered to her unborn kin. She was already highly fond of them and couldn’t wait for their arrival. She soon began to approach where the Kinath met the plains and she slowed her pace, being careful to not fall and trip and risk injuring her puppies. After a few careful strides she finally set foot on the plains that she had become familiar with these past couple of months.
It didn’t take too much time after arriving to the plains for the Arctic to pick up the scent of deer. Her green orbs darted in every direction, seeing if she could catch sight of it. Sadly she was unable to, so she began to track it by following the scent trail. The scent seemed relatively fresh, meaning that the deer wasn’t too terribly far away which would allow her to get back to the pack dens before dark if she caught it. Once she was able to get a good sense of what direction it was going, she picked up a light trot, heading towards what would hopefully be her next meal.
