Once again, the male found himself trapped on an island and coming to terms over the situation was not the easiest thing in the world to do. His ears were plastered against his head as he walked, unable to force him quite out of the morose state of mind. Oh, it caused such anguish in his heart of hearts. To think that he could have, in theory, escaped from the creature that had caused him such trouble. But the bone yard—the land of the dead—on his old island had held him there. That and the theory that he would have drown as he traveled through the waters.
That was the problem, if his mind was not prone to such a conniption fit over the way the world rumbled. Granted, it had been a while since he had been welcomed to a thrill of a seizure. It plagued him endlessly, and he could barely consider the burn that crossed his mind. Would he fall and crack his fall with his head, would the death end up being a hopeless tyrant of consequence. Tail flicked behind him as he moved, and head twisted as sounds beckoned him.
Something lingered, he could taste it on the air. It scented to his nose like a bird, and it caused him to frown. It bothered him that no one was running away in horror of his actions. Just merely straddled the line of life and death, and his lip curled faintly at the notion. What hell had he stumbled on to when he could not flee from his own thoughts and feelings?
“Fairest maiden from the sea,” The murmured forced its way past his lips, yellow eyes concentrated on moving ahead. “Come and laugh and drown my sorrows.” The singsong voice was contented by the sound of his own voice. That was what pleased him, it was what urged him forward when he considered just flopping over.“Make me forget until t'morrow.”
As the laughter tickled him, somehow he managed to hold it back. It was not that easy though, and his head cocked backwards and he peered up. Something cracked above him, and the male wrinkled his nose. Birds. How he loathed them. Wouldn't someone send them away?
