I'm just glad your alive.
His words were spoken with genuine relief, matching the emotions sprawled across his face. The concern should have made her happy, but it instead twisted her stomach in a way that was neither nauseating nor pleasant. Up until now, Ren was really the only wolf to ever show such worry, and the fact that Koder had it was... weird. It made a shiver prick at her spine, the promise of something more should anything other than platonic relations come about. Despite this, part of her was glad that he hadn't gone on without her. "I am as well" the words came out soft, clouded by her wandering mind, "It's a miracle we didn't get hurt. Well, fatally anyways." her face twisted, remembering the wounds that both of them carried. All that was forgotten, however, when Koder revealed that he hadn't seen Ren either. "It's okay" She reassured, trying to comfort herself rather than Koder. She felt a dangerous mix of hope and worry form in her stomach, "He sometimes disappears, but he'll be alright. I'm sure he'll come back eventually." The smile she gave was warm and earnest, truly believing her words. She knew she shouldn't be concerned. Ren could take care of himself. It was Katari herself that needed worrying over.
She listened to his words, her face turning soft and remorseful, "Nooo it's okay, Really. I couldn't see anything either. It was just all brown and blue and green." His words had that same comforting tone, and it left Katari dumbfounded as to why. He appeared to be of similar age, and he spoke in a way she couldn't couldn't quite identify. "I'm glad it's over as well" She tilted her head, looking at him out of the corner of her eye, "But you can't stop me from worrying. I am pretty sure getting knocked out counts as something that you probably shouldn't have happen. I wonder how many brain cells you lost." laughter bubbled out of her mouth, a desperate attempt to lighten the gray mood that had settled over them. "It's over now, so there is nothing to worry about. Unless you have some sort of internal bleeding that I don't know about. If not, then its best to just keep it as an unpleasant memory." She could go on for hours about unpleasant memories. how to stuff them away so that they didn't bother you, how to twist them so they ended up helping instead of hindering.
The thought of water sparked the realization that she was thirsty. That was the one thing about loving the heat, you were always in search of water. It usually didn't bother her, but looking around the flat plains, a knot of doubt formed in her mind. "No" she sighed, "But I'm sure there is one around somewhere. We just have to find it." Her legs twitched at the possibilities of searching with Koder, "Come on" she giggled, once again in her chipper mood, "It'll be an adventure."
