Please allow @zenzi to post first then Annabelle .
They had been traveling for a few days, Wildheart was paw sore and weary, but he had continued regardless on. He refused to let his mate, the light of his life know that he was hurting, the muscles in his body protesting to the overwork he put them through. He was existing on little sleep, preferring to stand watch at night, only catching brief naps during the day while they ate or sometimes when Zenzi would keep guard. The grass lands that they had chosen to bed down in rolled across the plains with a sweeping, ripple of green.
The land was firmer under his paws than the beach, and for that alone he was grateful. He tilted his head and watched as the sun rose over the sky. Touching up the canopy of white with pink and red hues of pearl. He lay his muzzle to the ground and took a deep breath, his senses were back now. And he found himself ever so often doing something to make sure they were still working. The time without them had nearly driven him mad with worry and irritation. He was not used to being unable to care for his family, his family.
He sighed as he thought of his children Jace and Vienna, wondering what they were doing? If they were alright. Jace with his temper and Vienna with her eternal optimism. He hoped they found each other, and Jace had won his last name. It was a tradition he loved and cherished, and would continue to send down the line for all of his children, the males at least. Vienna's last name Songbird fit her well. She with her voice the bird song, trilling as she went. He shook his head and was brought back to reality with a thump.
He gently touched his nose to Zenzi, they had to keep going, they had yet to meet any wolves and he was getting nervous.
