It had been several moons since Messoria had been accepted into Kairos, and with each passing day she grew to love Ina’mos more and more. If she had expected some desolate wasteland, some harsh barren terrain to match the infamy of the fearsome Goliath, she had been wrong. It was a lush paradise, as beautiful and welcoming as she could have ever hoped. It was, to put it quite simply, home. She had explored very much of the land already, and had met several of her fellow hunters. That, however, was as far as she’d gotten in the field of introductions. If she was being honest with herself, she had avoided meeting the brutes of the pack.
She was deep into her season, her scent wafting behind her as she moved quietly across the territory, tail tucked low to cover her pearl should anyone come ambling after her. She had not been willing to take any risks with the smell of her so thick and tantalizing to the opposite sex. She was, as much as she detested the innocence of the word, a virgin by all rights – she had never felt the heavy weight of a male on her back, nor had her belly ever swelled with the promise of life. But if she played her cards right, if she was careful, that would change. She could still remember Goliath’s words when he’d first bestowed her position upon her. He had made it abundantly clear that she would bring life to Kairos, with time. But time was not what she wanted. Messoria was ready now, and she would not take any risks with the pack. There was only one that she wished to fill her womb, and that was inevitably the alpha himself in all of his glory. It was a daunting thought, to be sure; he was huge and hulking while she was slender and small, and she did not bother to delusion herself by wondering if he would be gentle. She assumed that he would not be, and yet pleasure was not what she sought. Desire drove her, there was no denying that. The sight of Goliath stirred something that slumbered within her, and even now the thought of what might come made her body burn, the heat licking at her like flames. Still, it was duty and ambition that pushed her even further. She wanted him to be the first brute to claim her, the only brute as far as she was concerned in that moment, because it was his seed that would give life to the strongest offspring. She would bring warriors into Kairos. She would prove her worth.
It was to the gaping mouth of a cave that her paws lead her. Messoria had visited the Cavern of Govyn only once before in her wanderings, but it was enough for her to know that it was perfect. Dark and secluded, it would be where she would wait for him, her scent leaving a telltale trail for him to follow should he choose to. Even in her eagerness, however, she was cautious. Pausing just inside of the walls, the dark she-wolf lifted her ebon muzzle, dragging in the scents that surrounded her. There had been others here, but the scent of them was old. Nothing fresh assaulted her nostrils; no brutes lurking in the shadows or couples who’d had the same idea. Satisfied, Messoria proceeded, the soft thud of her small paws on the earth echoing quietly behind her. Deeper and deeper she went until she veered abruptly away from the tunnel into a smaller cavern-like area, large enough to serve her purpose yet secluded enough to offer a tiny sliver of privacy. It was here that she waited, lowering her rump to the damp moss beneath her, ears twitching atop her head as she strained to hear the signs of approach. The soft trickle of water in the background soothed her nerves just slightly as she curled her tail around her haunches, her angular face carefully composed despite the way that desire and impatience danced within her.
