Aaliyah had spent a good portion of her young life traveling. As a pup she was born into the life of travelers. Her parents had been nomads and had ended up traveling together and becoming closer with the more time they spent together. Over time they went from being friends to being lovers and that was when her mother became pregnant. After Aaliyah and her brother were born it was as if their mother's body began to deteriorate. With her deterioration her relationship with Aaliyah's father began to crumble. Aaliyah could sense the strain between them no matter how hard they had tried to hide it from her and her brother. It was when her mother died that all hell broke lose. Her brother and her father began to fight and Aaliyah found that she didn't have the voice to stop them. Instead she ran and didn't even look back. Since that very moment she had done nothing but run, and quite frankly she was tired of running. For the entirety of her life she had wanted the stability she could receive from a pack, but had never found the right one to settle down for. She was beginning to run out of hope even after she had surveyed the different packs that were nestled in Anikira.
Aaliyah had found herself in the rolling hills of the north on this particularly warm spring afternoon. She was strolling along confidently after finally being able to get a good nights rest. Memories of the few wolves she had come across flashed in her mind. They had all been unique, but none quite as unique as Ryker. Even now the brute was on her mind, his ebony pelt with gold markings had been so intriguing it was hard to forget about him. But what stood out the most was the utmost respect he had treated her with. Even now it made her heart jump in her chest. All her life that was what she had been looking for. It was the way that things were supposed to be. Males and females were supposed to work together happily; not jump down each others throats at every opportunity. He made her feel comfortable and gave her the confidence to face any other strangers head on. Normally she was quite shy, and part of her still was, but she was also determined to move past that. She wanted to get to know others, she wanted to have friends. Even though she had no idea how to start a conversation she would do her best to hold one and keep others interested. Her mind was racing as she moved towards a cluster of trees, intent on seeking shelter in the shade. When she reached her destination she circled a few times before lying down and resting her head on her front paws. She let out a slow sigh, trying to relax for a few moments. She wasn't sure where her next destination would be but she was trying to have a positive outlook.
