Isaiah rose to his paws slowly. It had been minutes since Neviah had left him alone, and though he did not hear her, the tiny vibrations in the earth told him that she was near. He turned his cream-hued head to her, only to find that she did not meet his gaze when she came to stand beside him, calm and sheepish but with an underglow of unstifled pride. And then she turned to him.
Their eyes locked in a silent understanding, an apology and forgiveness in the utter quiet. Her irises wore every shade his might have been if Belial had bestowed his eye color upon him alongside Ahri, and yet a color that could not be met on the natural earth. Galaxies danced around one another and stars were born behind her lenses, encapsuling sunrise and sunset and everything in between. He had looked into her eyes multiple times that day, and each time it set his heart ablaze and made his breath catch in his throat.
He did not speak of her outburst, nor would he. Isaiah was not one to chastise, and he certainly knew better than to belittle this femme, or anyone for that matter. Though he was very aware of his stunning good looks, he didn’t think himself above any living creature. Typical of the brute who lacked almost all brutish qualities, he bantered and held up his cocky attitude and quick tongue, but when it came down to it, all those who truly knew him were not impressed by his visage, but by his heart.
A small smile crept across his maw, and without thinking, he closed the distance between their heads and licked from her cheek to her ear. As he pulled away, he wore a dazzling smile and the slightly closed eyelids that came with his inherent confidence. His gesture was not as a mother might lick her newborn, but slow and careful, full of too many promises to say aloud just yet. Perhaps now she might feel the same slow burn he felt in his stomach—or maybe she already did.
For a moment, Isaiah only cocked one ear and looked at her, reading and memorizing before he spoke. “I must go meet my brother on Ina’mos,” he said, pointing his muzzle to the west towards the bay of water. “I hope to see you again.” He didn’t ask her whether or not she would be there—he didn’t want to hear the answer should she say no. He didn’t say what he already knew to be true: that one day, should she not come, he would walk the entire continent until he found her.
As he instructed his legs to walk away, he found that they would not cooperate, and he hesitated, looking at the beautiful fae beside him again. He didn’t want to leave her, not yet, not when he had no idea what he was in store for on his home island. “Though... if you’ll have me...” he trailed off, eyes sparkling at Neviah, playful and hopeful in a boyish way, and his cocky grin again plastered against his jaw. “What’s a bit longer when it’s already been two years?”

notes: You can choose to end it in your post or not- I'm down for whatever. c: Also, in future liquid time post, he alludes to the fact that he doesn't know whether or not Nev will come to Ina'mos, and while he'll be gone for a little while on Vor'asa, he's returning before he goes to the agoge to train the pups. So just way too much info for you. <3
