Water. His field of vision consisted of it on all sides, save for the approaching island. The waves and the current pushed him this way and that, bringing it out of the forefront, into the forefront out again - it was the very definiton of ebb and flow. He continued to paddle, never too furiously, nor too weakly. As constant as the water's motion was, consider him to be a wolf-shapped boat in motion, vying for that island as he tried to keep it in view ahead. This was the place, Anikira. He knew it must be so. Even if he'd been wrong, now was hardly the time to go back. He didn't want to go back, not for some considerable time. So...forwards.
Soon, he could make out the area which he would appear to be making landfall: A hilly grassland which dipped and domed, with lowlands that met the water in a brief beach. Now that he had stabilized his direction, he put more force into his swim and fought more to keep on course. It seemed like a reasonable enough spot, as far as he knew. Thus, it was mid-day as a fairly butch wolf of brown, gray, black came to finally grab puchase of new ground, far from the places he'd been before. He loped a little onto the semi-beach with a quick burst of speed, then wildly shook himself off. He was here! He was here, at last!
As Erastor began to calm down, a sudden weary feeling came over him. Yes, here at last, and so the tense feeling of the trip and why the trip happened finally wore off. He was just a little bit tested in terms of stamina in the legs right now, so moving up onto the grass hill nearby took a moment. He huffed, turned a bit in place to both render some of the grass flat and see his immediate surroundings, and then took a lie-down, head up with all but one paw tucked underneath, facing inland. Erastor surveyed the vast hills, idly seeing the movement of some distant animals - prey - and that of the grass rolling in the wind when it picked up. Perfectly peaceful.
While his right forepaw was out for easy leaps to not only his feet but to propell himself in motion, he was feeling rather groggy at the moment, and thus decided to put his head down. In less than a moment, his eyes were shut and he was asleep. The travel had taken its toll and now he was repaying with perhaps the first proper - if fitful - sleep he'd had in a while. Next to deal with would be food, but for now... Ever heard a wolf snore before?
