She liked it up here, there was no denying that. Even in the dead of winter, she found herself up here I the peace and quiet of he the mountains. The cold didn't bother her in the least since her thick pelt served as great protection should the winds kick up or the temperatures drop even more so.
It wasn't really a time for her usual amusement of collecting, the snow buried much of the plants she would use and probably wouldn't see them again until spring when the foliage bloomed. But thankfully she didn't really need them, she had taken the precaution of collecting early on and had a nice little stash of things in her den that she shared with her mate.
A trail of dainty tracks in the deep snow were easily tracked but she didn't really care if someone wished to follow them, the little Arctic female adored company. It was much more enjoyable when there was someone to talk to other than herself.
Dark forest green eyes looked around without really searching for anything, she just liked the way the sun sparkled on the snow. All the colors! She adored things like that. Smiling, she walked onward the tips of her fluffy white coat tickling the top of the icy blanket, leaving whispy patterns as she moved. It was a beautiful day. Nothing could ruin it.
Snow blanketed everything transforming even the most well known landmarks. However it was all very familiar to Torque, since his arrival he had not glimpsed anything but the snowy peaks of the Tia'deli mountains. He was used to the cooler temperatures and much preferred them over the sweltering humid climate of summer. The white substance had fallen onto his dark pelt, a startling contrast, and had begun to dampen his thick fur. His pawprints were still visible to anyone passing by, though he did not expect many to venture into the snowy landscape, and he made no move to conceal his presence. Below him unfolded a landscape filled with trees which were iced and bare from the winter months. He longed for spring to bring the new life into the world, along with it an abundance of prey, and though he had yet to be fully accepted into Airila he had no doubt he had secured a position. If only the alpha would appear and allow him to gain his trust and a place among the wolves of Anikira.
As he trekked across the ridged terrain he allowed his mind to wander reflecting on his life up to this point. Though he did not care to remember some of the more painful memories he still liked to imagine what his life would of been like had he remained with his family. Now he was here alone, lost and the curiosity that seemed to have all but vanished was nagging at him to explore further into the Shyia. Upon climbing a rise he noticed a figure with a pelt to match the snow, making her hard to pick out. He debated calling a greeting but did not want to frighten her so instead he slowly picked his was down the slope until he was nearer. "Hey!" He barked his voice carrying across the barren expanse.

Taking a deep breath, smiling as the icy air filled her lungs, Nymph closed her eyes for a moment but snapped open once she heard a voice calling out to her. Twirling around in a swirl of white she looked at the dark wolf who issued the call. A new face! How fun! She loved meeting new faces, her younger days would have made her shy and a little more reserved but ever since she knew the safety of Airila and matured to be a contributor to society, she welcomed new creatures openly.
"Hi!" She yipped happily and bounded towards him with a smile. The small female wrestled through the deep snow as best she could but the effort didn't diminish her attitude. "Nice to see someone else enjoy the sights. I'm Nymph a humble Gatherer of Airila. How long have you been here? What's your name?" She made herself stop talking, although it was difficult. Her curious mind ached to ask questions but she knew her curiosity was not always well received.
Anyone who knew her was quite familiar with the fact she could be a chatterbox but underneath all the inquisitiveness was the heart of a truly caring wolf. She loved to help and wasn't one to be knocked down emotionally. It had been a long time since she felt the pangs of depression that she nearly forgotten what it was like.
A fluffy white banner wagged as she waited for his reply, Emerald eyes sparkling like the snow that surrounded them. She paid attention to the male, taking in his features and stature. The fact he was so darkly colored was utterly fascinating to her, all colors were. She saw herself to be plain and envied the painted pelts of others and often stared at them with silent enjoyment.
Torque could not help but feel enlightened by her bubbly personality. He regarded her carefully but once he decided she was not hostile covered the distance between them. Though he was rather reserved and kept his emotions hidden, for the most part, he enjoyed the company of others to some degree. His green eyes drifted to her face and he gave a version of a wolf smile, though it probably looked ridiculous. "My names Torque. I arrived at a shore here less then a full moon cycle ago. I just happened to stumble across your packs territory." He said truthfully. Something about Nymph told him to trust her. She seemed so sweet and innocent in Torques eyes but he knew better then to judge someone on their appearance. Lowering his haunches into the snow he winced at the biting chill but allowed himself to stay put.
He relaxed flexing his stuff muscles and returned his attention to the she-wolf in front of him. "It's nice to meet you Nymph." Truly it appealed to Torque to have someone go talk with. He had been traveling on Anikira less then a moon cycle but had been alone for much longer. Ever since he was taken from his home and put in the strange cave where humans poked and prodded at him. He pushed the memories to the back of his mind finding no reason to dwell on them and not wanting to. He was hoping to start a new life where he could live contently and forget about the oddities of his past. He would not call the horrors because even though they were.... Unnatural, the humans had been kind to varying degrees. Now here he stood, being given a second chance, and he was going to take it.

"Nice to meet you Torque! Love your name." She smiled sweetly, "Oh are you from America too? I've never been there, I was born here about as far north as you can get. But my mate is from America, ended up here as a result if some kind of accident. Is that how you got here? It must take a strong wolf to go through something like that. I know I wouldn't make it." She never minded talking about herself in this manner, she was honest enough to realize she was fragile compared to most.
Even after years of practice under the tutelage of Audas, she still wasn't a very good hunter however she had improved so that was exciting. "Do you like it here? There's lots of beautiful things to be seen. If you ever need a tour around, let me know, I'll be more than happy to show you around. I've found many neat things during my adventures of searching for herbs. Speaking of which, do you also enjoy plants? Are you a hunter? What do you enjoy doing?" Ah she was getting carried away again and cleared her throat before she took a pause. "Sorry....curiosity gets the better of me often."
She pondered sitting as well but decided she would only look ridiculous being half buried in snow, another perk of being little if you could call it that. Instead she remained standing but kept her posture relaxed as her fluffy tail swung back and forth and dug a shallow crater in the white crystals surrounding them.
One wolf perfectly camouflaged within the wintry beauty while the other was in stark contrast, a splash of life amongst the world. She liked the thought of how the birds above must see them below.
Another question sprang to mind but she decided not to ask it. She didn't want to get to personal to soon, so asking if he left anyone behind would wait until later. Opening something up that could be filled with pain and sadness wasn't how she wanted this conversation to go.
Torque felt amusement bubble up at all her questions. His maw spread into a wolf version of a grin and his eyes gleamed. "From what my parents told me I am from a place called Canada." He said thinking back to the familiar landscape. "It's a lot like this, with pines and snow capped mountains. However there were a lot of humans." His memories shifted to the day he was captured. "I was taken by humans from my home and brought in a metal bird that smelled of fire. I'm not sure where they took me. Then one night after a storm I escaped and ended up here. I made the mistake of sleeping in a wooden object and was washed into the ocean." He paused and shook his head to dislodge a chunk of snow that had built up behind his ear. "I do like it here, especially in this area. I am not particularly fond of studying plants, though I never really tried, however I enjoy the diversity and different shapes you can find. I'm more of a.... Warrior I think you'd call them. Someone who protects and fights. Don't worry Nymph I don't mind all the questions. It's nice to have someone to talk to. Tell me what do you do in your pack?"
He had just told his history to a complete stranger, however he figured if he was joining her pack then she would find out eventually. Pack mates share information and the alpha would most likely want to know so word would travel. He stared at her white pelt, so different from his, in fascination. He had never seen anyone with a completely white pelt before and it intrigued him. Torque had never grown close to many wolves and he was startled to find himself liking the bubbly, kind, curious female. Maybe he had found a friend in this new world. This idea warmed him and he felt his tail begin to wag.

Canada. She swirled the word around in her thoughts, she liked the sound of it. Sadly she would never see it but the description given to her by Torque painted a lovely picture. She looked over the mountains while he spoke, trying to imagine it a bit differently so it was like she was really there.
Then the story turned to a more sad to where he was taken from his home but managed to free himself and ended up here. "I've never seen a human. But they don't seem like the kind of things I'd want to know if they steal wolves from their home." Her eyes reflected sympathy, if she figured right his parents were still n Canada and probably thought he was dead. Never to know he was simply somewhere else talking to a fluffy girl on an island.
But her demeanor brightened when he spoke of how he liked it here. Even answered what he felt comfortable with. "A warrior is a lovely thing to be able to do. A protector is a treasure." She smiled. He didn't mind her questions? She giggled a little at hearing that, it wasn't often she found someone who was so comfortable with her inquisitiveness.
"Oh well, as a gatherer I simply search for plants to heal various things. My mother taught me since I was little and when I left home I simply kept learning. I like making others feel better. It suits me to be a healer as well because...well.. let's face it, I'm not intimidating at all and not built to be a scout or fighter." She ended her statement with a soft giggle.
"Have you met any new friends here?" She had hoped the wolves he had met so far had been friendly although she knew from first hand experience that there were some with evil intentions. Of course, he could take care of himself but still, Nymph only wished him joy.
Torque knew anyone passerby's would think it odd for them to be conversing in the snow, and not somewhere more comfortable. He honestly preferred the chill to the blistering warmth of summer and found it quite suitable. As he listened to Nymph he imagined what her life must be like as a gatherer for Airila. He could not fathom doing something so relaxed and, in his view, mundane. He needed action and adventure to satisfy, without that his life would be boring and he would be driven to insanity. Torque chuckled softly at his reasoning and then replied to Nymphs last question. "I did meet with a wolf, Cherokee. She seemed nice and explained your pack to me. I am just awaiting the alpha to accept me." He said and glanced around.
It had begun to grow windy and drifts of snow billowed up before falling back to the ground. The small snowflakes flew against his muzzle and the breeze ruffled his fur. "It is getting colder." He remarked. His breath formed in an icy cloud that slowly dissipated. He turned back to Nymph. "If you are a gatherer of plants what are you doing way up here?" he asked curiously. He could not figure out the reason why the female would travel all the way up the mountain range, especially in winter. The cold had begun to reach him and he shivered as another gust of icy wind blew through his fur. While he waited for an answer he thought about what could possibly have provoked Nymph's travel to the icy peaks. Maybe she was scouting, or checking the border, he knew that it ran through the mountains. She could not be looking for plants, unless there was a certain type of evergreen moss or lichen. He felt amused by this thought and looked at her curiously. Maybe she just enjoyed the mountains and liked the view, it was possible since they were so breath taking.

The name that dropped from his lips was familiar, but she wasn't some one Nymph really knew. In fact the last time the brown marked girl was seen by the fluffy white girl was at the pack meeting a little while ago. It was great to see new faces that she didn't even know were part of the pack. She really should get out more and not focus so much on her work. It was then Nymph resolved to do just that. A close knit pack would have the be strength, right?
The wind kicking up snow swirled around the duo, wrapping them up in its icy embrace. Being built for this very weather, Nymph smiled into the wind as the snow flecks tickled her face. "The heights, the cold, I enjoy it. I'm up here very often actually, especially in summer when the heat gets to be too much for my thick pelt. Plus.." She looked out at the peaks, "Can't beat the view." Looking back at Torque, she tilted her head, "Do you want to walk back down? Maybe I can introduce you to some more of the pack as we go. But if you'd like to stay up here. I won't complain. It's great up here."
Suddenly feeling a surge of energy, the bouncy Arctic female leapt from the ground and landed in a pile of soft snow beside where she was standing. Kicking her fleet up into the air as she rolled the snow that matched her fur, she laughed like a pup. There was always a part of her that never really grew up, she felt it was true of many, even Toiro. There was always time for games and fun if one just let it happen.
Torque OOC: Just thought she would offer and then introduce him to Audas if you'd like. Totally up to you ^^
Nymph-Female-Arctic-Four-Airila Gatherer-Taken by Audas
Torque understood wanting to escape from the heat of summer. He could have guessed that she was an arctic wolf. Her white pelt basically showed off her northern heritage. Like Torque she had a thicker pelt however his was not as thick as Nymphs. He had never needed a thicker pelt in Canada since it was not as cold and the snow did not stay as long.
"Sure. I'd like to get to know more wolves." He said and got up stretching his stiff limbs. Snow fell from his pelt and he shook it out to dislodge more. The white powder collected with the rest of the snow perfectly. "Plus it will be nice to see more of the territory." His gaze drifted to the land that stretched out below the mountains. It truly was a beautiful view from up here.
As Nymph launched herself into the snow he could not help but chuckle. He had never been very playful and being older even less so. He lowered his head to the snow and threw some of the soft flakes into the air where they spiraled back down. Slowly his limbs began to warm as he moved around, his muscles rubbing against each other. He turned to Nymph and gestured to the rest of the Shiya. "Come on!" He barked and waited for her to lead the way before following. He moved carefully down the slow making sure to test the snow before stepping to make sure it would not slide out from under him and cause him to lose his footing. He stayed to the rocky ledges as much as possible avoiding the edges and following Nymph closely. "So where are we going?" He asked glancing at the bottom of the mountains. They were about a third of the way there. Still had a while to go.
