It had been an unusually silent week, and Hirntod was very grateful for that. Silence had always been very comforting to him, except for those few times when it had become so unbearable that he had sought out the voices, if only for their presents. The quiet peacefulness of the dark and eerily calm wood has lulled the voices to sleep, and subsequently, cleared his mind. Hirntod was still not quite sure when, or how he had gotten here, but that information would most likely come In time, so he was in no rush to find out. Feeling a familiar tension near his hindquarters, he stopped and began to stretch his front paws, waiting the cramp out. If it was not a cramp, which was extremely likely, then trying to stop it would only cause stress, and stress would cause it to come on even faster, along with bringing many unwanted sound, sights, and thoughts. The tension had slowly began to spread throughout his body, holding his tale tightly curled to his back, stiffening his legs until he could no longer walk, and causing his lips to pull back, showing his teeth.
This would be a most unfortunate time for someone to see him. He would have no way to explain what he was doing, and these Lock Downs often put him into very compromising positions. This had made many hard to get out of situations for him, and he hoped this would not be another one. He had no idea where he was, and he didn’t know how any wolves would react to him being there. Being careful had really been his only plan, partially because he could never keep a clear mind long enough to formulate a real plan, and partially because he had been sure that the lock ups wouldn’t be coming back for a while, but sadly, he was wrong. Lock Ups always brought a slur of other symptoms of his illness to play.
As he patrolled the borders of the territory, Vorilye breathed easy. It had been somewhat soothing to name his beta, particularly when the beta happened to be a dainty little no nonsense bitch such as Shayde. An amused chuckle slipped through his lips; the femme still didn't so much as know his name, and he was leaving it that way for a reason. Until he knew just how much he could trust these wolves, they would not have a clue who or what he was. He was a shadow that failed to hide in the night - as gold fur accents tended to prevent that - yet still managed to lay in wait for the kill without so much as a bat of his eyelids.
Vorilye was careful to spray the trees down with his scent, making it more than obvious that this was claimed territory. No one would get past these markers and be able to say that they were not aware that these were pack lands. Snorting, he shook his head. One of these days, the wolves of Anikira will find themselves at war with Descai. That is the day that I will reign supreme, he mused, momentarily lost in his climactic daydream as he routinely renewed his claim. That last alpha's scent was forever gone from the forest. The only thing that remained of him was his bastard daughter that seemed to feel entitled to a position in Vorilye's pack. He would find a way to rid himself of her later, if she did not prove her worth soon.
The alpha brute was viciously ripped from his happy, yet sadistic, world when the scent of another brute flooded his nostrils. They were close to his border, though he could not determine whether or not the stranger had violated the sanctity of his border. Even so, the brute was at least wise enough to hover on the edge of the territory, whether he had set paw inside or not. Unlike all the recent invaders who had delved deep into the heart of Acerbus, this brute was wise enough - or had not had time enough - to keep from intruding into the home Vorilye swore to protect.
However, the wolf that the huge mackenzie valley brute happened upon was in quite the interesting position. Vorilye could not determine whether the brute's stance was intended to be intimidating or if he was simply needing to take a massive dump. Either way, Vorilye was wary of the wolf; his lip curled back to reveal the razor sharp canines that had served him so well over the years, his body rigid with dominance over this stranger. He was set right on the border of the pack lands, so Vorilye could not justify attacking him until he was directly threatened by the wolf.
"Stranger, state your purpose here," the brute growled deeply, his golden eyes seeming to burrow into the wolf's very being.

Being frozen in these potentially embarrassing positions would be a lot worse if Hirntod had to ability to feel some sort of way about it. He wasn’t quite sure how he felt right now, but he knew that when it started, he would wish I hadn’t. He had only been there a minute or two when he began to hear THEM. The voices he had been plagued with his entire life, who he was never quite sure he could trust. They had certainly thrown him through many loops, helping him, then tricking him, and constantly putting him on edge with tales of how he would fail, and telling him the deaths of others. They were quiet this time, but that wouldn’t fool him, and he would stay strong and just ignore them as long as he could.
Suddenly, Hirntod heard the sounds of movement coming from somewhere off to his side. A wolf, and judging from the scent he had just picked up, it was coming from a very nearby pack. He must have been paying so much attention to the voices, he hadn’t smelt them. Hirntod couldn’t see what the wolf was doing, but he could tell that he was in danger. He could not move, much less fight, and since he was not accustomed to pack life, rules, he wasn’t sure if any of those rules were currently being broken.
"Stranger, state your purpose here,"
Hirntod Slowly attempted to turn his head enough to see the speaking brute, but just as he began to see hints of fur, his neck froze, and he was stuck again. From the bits of fur he could see, he could tell it was a very large, dark pelted wolf, and based on the stance that he was in, he was ready for a fight. The safest thing for him to do right now would be to prove that he was harmless, but he had a feeling that would be easier said than done. Thinking for a few more seconds, he decided to ask the question weighing heavily on his mind. Struggling, he forced his jaw to unclench, before quickly answering in a small and strangely mono-tone voice “S-sorry for intruding, I’m quite lost, and I was wondering if there was pack nearby. If there is, would you happen to a part of it?”.
As the strange male inquired if there was a nearby pack that he may be a part of, Vorilye found himself laughing a strange, twisted laugh. Was it not obvious from the way he carried himself? Would a random wolf inside pack lands be confronting a stranger? These wolves need to learn their place. Fools, he thought coarsely, his tail bristling in disgust. No wolf had respect for him any longer.
"I am the alpha here. You are trespassing on my lands," he announced bluntly, his golden eyes locked on the strange male with an air of distrust. He was not going to allow this brute to come any further into his territory without an explanation. "Pray, tell me. Why is it that you would wander into claimed lands and insult the alpha by confusing him with a common pack mongrel?" he sneered, eyes flashing with disdain. He was in a foul mood, and this wolf would be the one to suffer because of it. How could he get it through everyone's thick skulls that he meant business?
A sigh escaped the brute. At least this loner had not wandered into the heart of the territory like several others, and he was not fleeing from Vorilye just yet. However, after his behavior toward him, the alpha would not be surprised if the brute darted off in search of a new land. He had a knack for scaring wolves senseless; it was a bit of a hobby, if he confessed it. What was the point of having power if he could not manipulate others to his whims? That was the whole point in being alpha. That, and control. He was higher than everyone here. No one could tell him what to do, and the only advice he had to accept was the advice he intentionally solicited. It is my world. I reign supreme. His eyes narrowed at the wolf once more, becoming mere slits of their original size.
