Nymph seemed caught of guard by the brown furred males speech, and for a moment, Audas felt worried he had either shocked her or brought up some memory, much like what would often happen to himself. But when Nymph smiled, he nearly gave out a sigh of relief, after settling herself in her usual position, with her tail over her paws, the little female gave off a smile that was enormous compared to most, it almost seemed like both wolves were breaking records today.
Soon, the female then proceeded to reply, "Indeed, I believe you are.", prompting the quiet male to widen an eye, he wasn't too surprised when Nymph said that, the reasons why though was the question.
That however, was soon to be answered:
"They call Elders wise for their knowledge and life-long journey of trials and rewards. You have had quite the journey in life yourself, a simple example is making it from North America to Anikira. That alone has presented you with trials and rewards. You know about many things that an Elder in North America would never dream of and the same is true of the Elders here on this island when it comes to things in North America. You have experiences that no other wolf can have or take from you. Wisdom comes from experience and knowledge, I believe you possess quite a bit in both."
Whilst Nymph may have been glad to say such words, Audas feelings switched from those of curiosity and interest, to the darker feelings of sadness and self-hate. As the little female finished, the grey wolf male turned away, eyes clenched shut as the much dreaded images imprinted into his tourtured mind came pouring in, family, dead, Reland, dead, Alika... dead..., Dex... murdered...
"Yet I have failed trials, and have experienced things and know of things I just want to throw away..."
Audas realised that the slightly strained, sad voice was his own, and soon, much like before, the brown furred male turned back towards Nymph, "What do you think of me Nymph?", closing his eyes once again and looking towards his own paws, Audas continued, voice continuing to strain with emotion, "What do you see me as? A friend? A troubled being? Another loner? A..." The male quickly stopped himself, not wanting to say he was a killer or failure now, he was straining his voice that much it would surprise if he actually said that. He didn't know why he started speaking like this again, but it was too late to change things round as he awaited the reply, as sorrow and guilt gripped his heart with an iron fist.
