Changes have become too severe in Anikira, and the wolves have been temporarily relocated to the Anikiran Southern Isles. Things have grown dire and unlivable on the mainland; it was time for outside intervention. Please be sure to review the full update on the staff board for more information!
The current season is fall in the Southern Isles. Due to their proximity to the equator, the region is still warm. There is currently no breeding and no birthing amongst the wolves
The labor pains struck more rapidly with each step. While Valeria had not intended to stray so far from the dens, she had done so with little regard for just how soon the pups might come. As the femme darted across the thawing ground, she could not help but pray that she could make it back to the dens in time. All at once, a snarl rippled from the Seraphim's throat, the stabbing pains consuming her as red clouded her vision. She had to make it back, and yet there was something unnerving.
Valeria dove in between the crumbled rocks, worming her way deep inside the crevice as she whimpered, fighting her body's natural urge to expel the pups. She could only throw a look in the direction of her father, his now cold corpse laying not even fifty feet from her. A distressed mewl slipped from the Seraphim's muzzle as contraction after contraction raced through her body. If she thought this was easy the first time, this time things were certainly different. But one by one, her new pups made their way into the world. As Valeria nosed and licked the pups clean, she could not help but admire the tiny little creatures she had created.
Two girls, and a little boy. Their pack had been blessed with three precious pups that would grow up as the next generation in Valyn. To the eldest, she smiled. "Cryphe," she dubbed the young girl, her eyes falling on her second daughter. "And you will be Calypso." The only one remaining was the boy. Her son; both Valhalla and Leviathan had left her before, and perhaps, this time things could be different. "And my son... My little Vorilye," she breathed the name with reverence. The young male would grow up bearing the name of his grandfather. Though he would never have the chance to meet him, she was pleased that the gods had graced her with a son with whom she could honor her father. Perhaps this was how everything was meant to be, after all.

News had it that the Prince of Valyn had passed away recently. The news had shocked Raksha, bringing up memories that she had tried to desperately suppress, the guilt that she had fiercely tried to push away, to ignore. She had shied away from On-aldirr Crevice, where she had heard that the body lay, in fear of what seeing another lifeless being might have done to her. Raksha knew that life would go on and that she would see many more to pass, for she was not that old, but at that moment, she did not want to face more death. Not so soon.
However, there was also the urge to be a good mother, to care properly for her future offspring. They needed a den and the dens were in the cave; she could not fail a second time... If she did not care for her pups properly, she could be facing even more death, and be responsible for it, the death of innocent, sweet pups... The mere thought was too much to bear so she did not imagine what could happen if she succumbed to her own selfish whims to hide from the truth and instead acted upon it, seeking out the dens.
When she reached the entrance, the sound of a she-wolf whimpering and then speaking reached Raksha's dark ears. She recognised the vocals as those of the Seraphim's, and it clicked. Valeria had been quite heavily pregnant for a while, carrying pups sired by some stranger. It seemed about time for the youths to be birthed, and by the sound of it, the alphess was saying names—naming her pups.
For a moment, Raksha hesitated. Most femmes did not like others being present during their birthing, seeing it as their time of weakness, and the mottled Archangel would respect that wish if it was so. However, she had always loved pups, no matter how old or young, and greeting newborns into the world was something that she had loved doing for her own litter last time. Unsure of what to do, the pregnant fae padded quietly towards the dark form that she identified as Valeria, keeping a comfortable distance between them.
"Valeria?" she whispered softly, watching the three tiny forms against the Seraphim's belly fondly.

Eastern Timber • Four Years • Female • Valyn Archangel
The black female had heard of neither the death of Vorilye nor the birth of Valeria's litter, mothers were known to disappear to protect their young and not tell the pack where they were going and even she would respect that, but she did not know that Valeria had birthed a litter. So instead she wandered the deep crevices that this territory offered, while she didn't necessarily want to be seen alone she also didn't long for company. She supposed if her alpha caught her she would tell her the truth or you'll just tell her more halves a laugh inside her head, she knew herself better from the time she spent away from other wolves. While the female knew that it was healthier for her to spend more time with the pack than away from it she couldn't help but value the time away from other wolves. Maybe one day Valeria would get the whole piece her paws stopped at the thought - they started again, perhaps that would not be a good idea. She knew that her actions toward the omega she had been traveling with and her part in the destruction of her pack would not sit well, it was a confusing time her mind whirled to make excuses and she pushed them back and went deeper into the intricate maze. She cared very little how she would find her way out as long as she could stay here and wallow in her solitude for a little longer. Usually she would hate the constrained space but this left her just enough room to maneuver that she didn't feel threatened.
Her nose wrinkled at the scent down here she had smelled it before but couldn't place it. Instead of finding herself more lost within the passages she instead began to see light seeping in, she was on the outer edges of the maze. Sighing she was about to turn back when a scent caught inside her maw. Valeria it was a simple observation, but....Rassa inhaled deeper and was able to detect not only Valeria but the scent of milk upon the Seraphim, along with - pups. Her ears swiveled and she lifted her paw ready to go to or away the area that she could now detect the new mother. She's touchy enough without pups she thought. Still her curiosity drew her closer, she scented another who was about ready to birth. Great two pregnant females she almost turned back, but she stayed.
Approaching the area with intentions unknown she observed the other female approaching from the lighter part of the territory. She didn't want it to seem as if she was circling the femme with three pups at her belly to fuel any rage that the wolf would normally have for her, so she moved to approach a space behind the other she wolf.

In an effort to provide the least restrictve roleplaying environment available, Anikira and their staff are looking to move to the Proboards paid forums. This forum would allow unlimited writing freedom to members, as well as an ad-free environment and our ability to customize the forum and its ratings/content however we choose! In order to do so, we will require your help! There is a monthly cost associated with this service, and any and all donations toward this goal are appreciated. Please use the PayPal link below for all donations for Anikira maintenance and moving costs. We look forward to a roleplaying environment where the sky is the limit!
Please note the donation page is listed under Uru's name as it cannot be listed otherwise without a business account. All funds associated with this PayPal account will be used directly for the maintenance and costs of Anikira, and hopefully soon anikira.com as our roleplaying forum.
This untraditional coupling is one of the truly loving matches in Anikira. Although they are members of two different species, Calantha and Rikez have overcome the differences and rose above, finding love in the most pure of ways. And from this pairing, a litter born of two loving parents was conceived. These little boys and girls will have the great honor of being raised by two parents that support each other, while many of the offspring in Anikira have not had such a benefit. The pair are truly fitting of one another; both kind-hearted and generally good individuals.
