The day was already proving to be slow and eventless. The sky was overcast and rather depressing. The ground was covered in foliage and life. The rain was light, but rather relentless, and had seemed to drown out all possible snacks within this living land. The journey had more than exhausted her tiny body, but from what she could see trees were not native to this field. Cover would not be something she would find with easy, or without further energy exertion. Trees dotted the edge of the field but the travel seemed farther than worth it at the moment. She could take a little water for a little rest.
She chose a spot that seemed less... in the middle of everything. Her hind legs, and back end fell with a dull thud, mostly cushioned by the plant life. What she needed right now was some cover and some fat rats. Her small stature kept her from bringing down anything larger than a gopher on her own. Since she had left the safety of usable company shed had to hunt and fend for herself. Not something she was particularly used to, but had the ability to do. She dearly missed the taste of large game. "I'd kill for some deer..." she trailed off, speaking only to herself.
She yearned dearly for lazy days in the sun and food being served to her as she was accustomed. She regretted nothing about leaving, but not taking a faithful admirer? Yeah, that she wished she had put a little more thought into. Oh well, it was not her fault after all. They could have easily followed her, and Since they had not it seemed they were not as faithful as she had thought. The young'ins must have gotten to their heads. Her days of royalty among the pack ranks had been good. She never had to list a paw to be cared for and waited on. All gushed over her luck, her beauty, her intelligence, her every quality. As things should be.
Her head swam in these memories and her eyes drooped. Her body was stiff and unflinching but her mind was not so strong momentarily. Her head felt as if it had been pounced on by a large brute and blackness went in and out of vision. Her eyes slowly fluttered and he head dropped only to be snapped back up less then a second later. Exhaustion had set in, and she was powerless to stop it without anything to keep her mind busy. Not even this rain and cold wetness could keep her awake anymore. "I'll only take a small nap, than continue about my journey." she emptily promised to herself before loosing touch with what was real and what was in her head.
