[atrb=background,http://imageshack.us/a/img441/7313/noellatablem2.png] Noella lay within the dens of Descai, an unintentional intruder. Okay, so she wasn't an intruder exactly... But she hadn't picked which territory to wash up on! The sea had dumped her within the confines of Acerbus and the wolves here had been kind enough to drag her to safety. Kind... Now there was an odd word to describe the wolves within this pack. Who would have thought the hardened wolves of Descai would take pity on one as weak as herself? They had taken her in, brought her to their dens, and let her recover in relative peace. Or at least that was all she could assume. The poor dear had been unconscious for two days. Almost comatose, her body insisted on rest to repair itself. Her muscles ached, her stomach was empty, and if not for a strong need of water she probably would have slept longer. Alas, Noella finally awoke with a start, gasping for air, lungs wheezing as she was pulled into consciousness. It hurt to breathe, it hurt to move, hell it even hurt to see. Aqua orbs peered into the darkness of the mines, the faint light coming in still too much for her weakened state. She was hungry and thirsty, and her head was pounding. But unlike when she had washed up on the shores, this time Noella was alone. She took her time in getting up, eyes and ears slowly adjusting. The mines were cool against her heated flesh, her body having been feverish. For a long time she just lay there, staring into the darkness, trying to get a handle on everything that had happened. She could tell that these were a pack's dens, the scent of others strong. How she had gotten here, however, she did not know. Where she was she could not remember. Her memory had blocked out the trauma of the sea. The last thing she knew, she had been sitting on a beach in a far away land, contemplating life or death. Rising to very shaky paws, Noella collapsed almost immediately. Her front legs buckled and she hit the ground hard, whimpering from the impact. Unlike last time, however, she would not give in. She needed food and especially water. Trying again, she made it up onto her feet and, though she struggled, managed to hold up her weight this time. One step, two step, she made it closer to the den's entrance before her body gave out again. This time her back legs folded in, causing her to sit down hard. Unless her basic needs were tended to, chances were she wouldn't be going anywhere for a while. Thus, she let out a very weak call, the whiny howl bouncing off the walls of the mine. "Someone help me, please..." |
