His journey has been long and hard. Endless searching and nothing was turning up for any spark of hope. He missed his sister, he couldn't wait to meet up with her again and start heading north.
The hard ground beneath his feet was solid and strangely cold, probably from the crashing waters around him. It was oddly relaxing to hear the waves break over the ragged surface he was treading on. After the dogged journey he has had so far, it was nice to let his mind relax. He has been drained mentally, tense and tired.
Physically, he was still very strong. A little more lean then when he and his sister left their homeland. He has forgotten to hunt on several occasions because of his complete concentration on what he came here to do, whom it was he came to find. That being so, thick muscles still enwrapped his form, his power still quite obvious in his movements.
Burnt orange eyes watched for what was coming next, focused in front with little side-to-side movement. Posture was tall, non-threatening. Big paws padding heavily, one in front of the other, eating up the distance at a comfortable trot.
He wasn't optimistic about this trip, he has met only one wolf since he came to this island, besides his sister. So many scents proved this place was populated by many wolves, but Kenai just seemed to be at the wrong place at the wrong time when it comes to meeting anyone for answers.
Deciding to try something new, he stopped and looked up to the sky. A deep, clear howl issued from his throat, calling anyone who bothered to listen. Echoes died into silence, Kenai didn't even know if it was worth the effort. He stared up for a few moments after the silence continued but heard only the sound of the waves. Looking back to the earth, he continued on, looking for signs of any one who may have heard his call.
